Prince Harry and Meghan Mocked in South Park Episode: The Worldwide Privacy Tour
In the latest episode of Comedy Central's long-running show, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone take aim at Prince Harry and Meghan.
Titled “The Worldwide Privacy Tour,” episode 2 of season 26 sees the Prince of Canada and his wife seeking privacy and seclusion in a small mountain town.
A teaser clip reveals Kyle expressing frustration, exclaiming, “It's seriously driving me crazy, I'm sick of hearing about them, but I can't get away from them.
They're everywhere.
In my fucking face.”
Stan, his best friend, responds with indifference, stating, “Look Kyle, we just kinda don't care about some dumb prince and his stupid wife.”
With nearly 1.5 million viewers per episode, it seems that these sentiments are shared throughout the entertainment world.
This episode comes on the heels of Prince Harry's press tour for his memoir, “Spare,” and the launch of the couple's Netflix docuseries, “Harry and Meghan,” as well as Meghan's podcast, “Archetypes.”
Despite their pleas for privacy, the couple continues to be in the spotlight.
The American media's response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has drastically changed since their interview with Oprah Winfrey two years ago.
After the release of Harry's memoir, their popularity has plummeted in both the UK and the US.
Harry's bombshell revelations, ranging from private conversations with family members to intimate details about a case of penile frostbite, have left him open to ridicule not seen since his move to the US in 2020.
Following their interview with Oprah, where they made serious claims, including allegations of questions about their future children's skin color, the fallout was significant.
The Queen even issued a rare statement acknowledging that recollections may vary.
Now, the mocking has reached a new level with the release of Harry's memoir.
Late-night talk shows have parodied readings from the book, and award show hosts have made jokes at their expense.
According to commentator Kevin O'Sullivan, Americans are growing tired of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's complaints.
He believes that the story about Harry losing his virginity in a field has spoiled the royal fairytale for Americans.
O'Sullivan notes that while Britons may be more accepting of such revelations, straight-laced Americans are less enthusiastic.
He adds that even in Britain, many people are becoming fed up with Harry.
As evidence of their declining popularity, recent polls show a significant drop in favorability ratings for both Prince Harry and Meghan in the US.
Prince Harry's favorability rating dropped 45 points from 38 in December to minus 7 in January, while Meghan dropped 36 points from 23 in December to minus 13 in the latest poll conducted by Redfield and Wilton for Newsweek.
These numbers indicate that Americans are starting to lose their enthusiasm for the couple.
It seems that Prince Harry and Meghan's attempts to find privacy and seclusion have only drawn more attention and criticism.
As they continue to navigate their lives in the public eye, it remains to be seen how they will respond to this latest round of mockery and the decline in their popularity.
