Parkinson Takes a Subtle Dig at Prince Harry’s Upcoming Memoir

Legendary interviewer Michael Parkinson has shared his thoughts on Prince Harry's upcoming memoir, taking a subtle dig at the former royal.

Parkinson's new book, “Spare,” is set to be released in January, and he had quite a bit to say about the matter.

In a recent interview, Parkinson commented, “Oh, we await that Pulitzer Prize-winning stuff, I'm sure.

I do think he would have made for an interesting interview if he'd told the truth.

The entire family, an explained myth, aren't they really?”

Having interviewed members of the royal family before, including Harry's grandfather, Prince Philip, Parkinson admitted that Philip was his most challenging guest.

He even suspected that the royal didn't particularly like him during their conversation.

Reflecting on the experience, Parkinson revealed, “I never felt quite comfortable with Philip.

I suspected that he didn't like me very much.

I did have to chat to him once for a charity, and it wasn't successful.”

However, Parkinson did have another opportunity to speak to royalty when he interviewed Princess Anne in 1980 following her involvement in a kidnap attempt.

Describing her as formidable, he stated, “You don't go mucking around with her.”

In the meantime, royal expert Simon Heffer suggested that Prince Harry may not find as much happiness in the US with his wife Meghan Markle as their fans might believe.

Despite Harry stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Prince William still deeply cares about his brother.

Heffer claimed that William is frustrated by Harry's decision to release his memoir and is shocked by the announcement.

Furthermore, Heffer emphasized that Harry may not be welcomed back with open arms should he decide to return to the UK.

According to Heffer, Prince Charles is appalled by his brother's behavior in general, and the publication of the book only adds to his dismay.

Heffer stated, “The Prince of Wales is reported to be appalled by his brother's general behavior and that the book is going to appear at all.”

He also noted that Prince William is concerned about the impact the memoir will have, especially considering the challenges the royal family has faced in 2022.

Meanwhile, historian and royal commentator Dr. Tessa Dunlop believes that King Charles and Prince William may adopt the late Queen Elizabeth's approach to deal with Prince Harry's upcoming memoir.

She suggested they embrace the motto of “never explain and never complain,” stating, “I think the monarchy is broad-shouldered enough to just suck it up, and I think Charles and William will do just that.”

Since their departure from the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced criticism for their actions.

One royal expert pointed out that they have been trying to get everything their own way since the beginning.

Despite achieving their desired independence and earning a significant amount of money, they have continued to criticize the royal family through various platforms, including Oprah Winfrey's show and their own podcast.

It appears that even after getting what they wanted, Meghan and Harry have not refrained from trashing the royal family.
