Meghan Markle’s Poverty Letter Unmasked: New Evidence Challenges Her Claims

's recent claims of growing up in poverty have come under scrutiny after compelling evidence emerged that contradicts her statements.

In a letter addressed to US politicians, the Duchess of Sussex asserted that she had a humble upbringing, relying on the $4.99 salad bar at Sizzler.

However, it has now been revealed that Meghan previously boasted about dining at one of LA's most renowned restaurants, the Musso and Frank Grill, with her father, Thomas Markle, during her school days.

This revelation has cast doubt on the authenticity of her poverty narrative.

The controversial evidence stems from a 2013 post on Meghan's now-deleted Instagram account.

In the post, she shared a photograph of the iconic sign of the Musso and Frank Grill, along with a caption expressing gratitude for the enjoyable lunches she had there with her father after tap and ballet classes.

The restaurant, established in 1919, is celebrated for its delectable grilled meats and fish, attracting A-list celebrities such as Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, and Keith Richards.

It has even been featured in Quentin Tarantino's recent film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”

Contrary to Meghan's claims, menus from the 1990s indicate that a meal for two at the Musso and Frank Grill would cost up to $75, significantly more than the $5 Sizzler salad she professed to have subsisted on.

Considering that Meghan attended the prestigious Immaculate Heart High School, where tuition fees amount to $16,000 per year, it is likely that she frequented the upscale restaurant for several years.

Critics argue that her Instagram posts provide irrefutable evidence contradicting her poverty letter.

Experts on the royal family question whether Americans will be swayed by Meghan's account of struggling, given that her estranged father, Thomas, financed her private education from kindergarten and she currently resides in a lavish $14 million mansion, all while boasting a fortune estimated at $100 million.

Moreover, the Duchess of Sussex has been accused of leveraging her royal status to interfere in US politics.

In a letter spanning 1,000 words, written on the Sussexes' own letterhead, Meghan lobbied two prominent Washington figures regarding Joe Biden's proposed parental and sick leave legislation.

This overtly political intervention has fueled speculation about Meghan's aspirations for a career in Democratic politics or even a presidential run.

While it is known that Prince Charles has corresponded with various US presidents, including Joe Biden, as well as British government officials, Meghan's public missive to Schumer and Pelosi marks a departure from the traditional approach.

In her letter, Meghan emphasizes her upbringing on the $4.99 salad bar, recounting her experiences working at a local frozen yogurt shop from the age of 13 to make ends meet and later to afford gas for her car.

Critics argue that many families could not afford to dine out at all, and highlight Meghan's attendance at the prestigious private nursery and kindergarten called Little Red Schoolhouse, where annual fees start at $18,800 for kindergarten and reach $22,600 for sixth grade.

These expenses were covered by her father, whom she no longer maintains contact with.

Social media users have seized upon Meghan's reference to Sizzler, deeming her comments out of touch and questioning the relevance of such statements to the issue of maternity leave.

Many Twitter users have pointed out that numerous families struggle to afford dining out altogether, and have come to the defense of the salad bar.

The controversy surrounding Meghan's poverty letter continues to unfold, raising questions about the credibility of her claims and the potential impact on her public image.
