Growing Backlash Against Prince Harry’s Memoir Announcement

is facing a growing backlash in the United States, his adopted home, following a segment on Fox News that mocked his recent memoir announcement.

The segment, known as Friday Follies, features host Laura Ingram and guest pundit Raymond Orio, who highlight the most absurd stories of the week.

In this particular episode, Harry became the subject of ridicule, with Orio suggesting that the Duke of Sussex was about to “smash the king” with his new book.

Orio, a conservative commentator, described the memoir titled “Spare” as an allegedly unsparing account of Harry's truth.

He drew attention to the cover, which features a close-up photograph of the prince, comparing it to 's variety cover and noting their similar sun-kissed appearance.

Orio also pointed out that both books were written by the same ghostwriter, J.R. Moehringer.

Miss Ingram chimed in, stating that she believed a more fitting title for Harry's book would have been “Whipped,” suggesting that he is constantly in the shadow of his wife.

She clarified that there was nothing wrong with that anymore, alluding to the changing dynamics of gender roles within relationships.

However, critics argue that the title “Spare” is a pathetic dig at the royal family, referring to Harry as the spare to his brother William, the heir.

Commentators have criticized Harry, claiming that the book's title indicates he still harbors resentment towards his lower status within the royal family.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, expressed her disappointment, stating that it's “pathetic” that Harry hasn't moved on from being labeled the spare.

She revealed that Diana used to refer to him as such, and Harry himself would say, “I'm the spare.

I don't have to behave.

I can do what I want.”

Reports have surfaced suggesting that Harry may travel to Britain in the new year to explain his motivations behind writing the book.

This visit could cast a shadow over the royal family's Christmas celebrations, which will be the first since the passing of II.

A source commented that it is unlikely to be a relaxing family holiday.

Royal author Angela Levin condemned for focusing on past grievances with the royal family rather than embracing his new life with his own family.

Levin accused the Sussexes of wanting to destroy the royal institution.

Speaking to Sky News Australia, she criticized the choice of the title “Spare” for the memoir, deeming it tragic.

She questioned why Harry, who has found love, has children, and enjoys freedom, still clings to the past.

Levin further criticized the international title of the book, “Leftover,” describing it as hideous and nonsensical.

She recalled Harry's mischievous nature and energy during his younger years, contrasting it with his current attempt to attack his parents while mourns the loss of his mother.

As the anticipation surrounding Prince Harry's memoir grows, so does the backlash against him.

Critics argue that his focus on past grievances and the choice of the title “Spare” only serve to fuel the tension between him and the royal family.

The fallout from this announcement is likely to continue, casting a cloud over the upcoming Christmas festivities for the British monarchy.
