Duchess Catherine of Cornwall and Cambridge was seen leaving Windsor Castle on Thursday, September 8th, wearing dark sunglasses to hide her emotions after the Queen's passing.

The somber Duchess, dressed entirely in black, traveled to Berkshire the next day to pick up her children, Prince George, , and , from their new school.

Her choice of attire included pearl earrings, symbolizing mourning jewelry.

In light of concerns about his grandmother's health, did not accompany his wife to Balmoral.

Instead, Duchess Catherine remained in Windsor after dropping off their children at their new school.

The passing of their great-grandmother, the Queen, will undoubtedly weigh heavily on the young royals as they embark on their new life at Adelaide Cottage within the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The past few weeks have been tumultuous for the three young royals, who recently relocated, started a new school, and now mourn the loss of their beloved great-grandmother.

On Tuesday, Prince George, , and Prince Louis excitedly ascended the steps of their new preschool, bringing smiles of delight to their parents' faces.

However, within 48 hours, the nation was plunged into mourning.

While traveled to Balmoral, Duchess Catherine chose to stay in Windsor, striving to maintain a sense of normalcy for their children by keeping them in school during this trying time.

After rushing to Scotland to see his grandmother before her passing, Prince William has since returned home from Balmoral to be with his family.

It is likely that the Cambridges have now been reunited.

Today, III, the nation's new monarch, made his way to Buckingham Palace to meet fellow mourners.

He graciously accepted condolences and shook hands with those in attendance, while chants of “God Save the King” filled the air and spontaneous renditions of the National Anthem echoed through the crowd.

, the Duchess of Cornwall, followed closely behind her husband, joining him to observe the vast collection of vibrant floral bouquets left as tributes to his mother.

Prince William, now known as the Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge, departed Balmoral this afternoon and is en route to Windsor to be with his wife Catherine and their children ahead of the accession council tomorrow.

This historic event, which will take place at St James's Palace, will be televised live for the first time.

As a member of the Privy Council, William will be there to support his father during the official proclamation of his kingship.

According to the official spokesperson for Prime Minister Liz Truss, she was informed of the Queen's passing at 4:30 pm.

By the time they arrived at the Queen's Highland home, she had already peacefully passed away.

At 6:30 pm, Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming II's death.

The statement read, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

As a result of the Queen's passing, William and Catherine have inherited the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.

Their social media accounts have been updated to reflect these new titles.

Their bio now reads, “The official account of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge and the Royal Foundation, based at Kensington Palace.”

Their handles remain unchanged at Kensington Royal.

Additionally, when in Scotland, they will assume the titles of Duke and Duchess of Rothesay.

It is expected that will bestow upon his eldest son, William, the title of Prince of Wales, traditionally given to the heir to the throne.

This is not an automatic process and must be granted by the monarch.

If this occurs, Catherine will be able to use the title of Princess of Wales, previously held by her late mother-in-law, .
