Piers Morgan Slams Meghan Markle’s Apology, Doubts Her Sincerity

Piers Morgan, the former host of Good Morning Britain, has once again expressed his skepticism towards after she issued an apology for misleading a British court.

The Duchess of Sussex recently admitted that she did authorize a senior aide to brief the authors of the biography, Finding Freedom, contrary to her previous claims.

However, Morgan remains unconvinced by her apology and took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

In a scathing tweet, Morgan wrote, “I've now had eight months to carefully reflect on my statement that I don't believe a word says.

And I still don't.”

He further criticized the Sussexes for allegedly exploiting their royal titles while tarnishing the reputation of the royal family and monarchy.

This latest development comes eight months after Morgan left his role on Good Morning Britain following his controversial remarks about Markle.

Twitter users were quick to respond to Morgan's tweet, with many applauding him for standing by his initial statement.

One user, Tickety Boo, wrote, “Kudos to you Piers.

This has validated everything you and others have said about her.”

Another user, Sharon, added, “And after this breaking news, no one else will.”

Darren Watts suggested that Markle should publicly apologize to Morgan for misleading him.

To emphasize his point, Morgan shared a collage of newspaper headlines about Markle's apology on Twitter.

Earlier this year, Morgan left Good Morning Britain after expressing doubts about Markle's claims during her interview with .

He particularly disputed her assertion that she and had secretly married before their public wedding.

The Archbishop of Canterbury later confirmed that no official documents were signed, leading Morgan to label Markle's statement as “downright lies.”

Morgan's skepticism extended to Markle's claims about struggling with suicidal thoughts while pregnant with her son, .

These comments sparked a heated on-air exchange with co-host Alex Beresford, which resulted in Morgan briefly leaving the set before returning to finish the show.

However, he ultimately decided to quit the program after receiving over 41,000 complaints to Ofcom, the UK's communications regulator.

In response to Morgan's remarks, Markle filed a formal complaint with Ofcom, expressing concerns about the impact his comments could have on mental health discussions.

Despite this, Ofcom ruled that Morgan's comments did not violate any regulations.

Following the ruling, Morgan expressed his delight on Twitter, stating, “Verdict says I was entitled to disbelieve her and , and to restrict my right to do so would be a chilling restriction on freedom of expression.”

Morgan, who sees the ruling as a victory for free speech, further commented, “This is a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchio's.”

He believes that stifling his right to express his opinions would have been an unjust limitation on freedom of expression.

With Morgan's unwavering skepticism and Markle's apology, the ongoing feud between the two continues to captivate public attention.
