“Defending Her Work: Costume Designer Hits Back at Megan Markle’s Claims of Feeling Like a Bimbo on Deal or No Deal”
Dina Kirchione, the costume designer for the popular game show Deal or No Deal, recently took to Instagram to defend her work after Megan Markle made comments on her Archetypes podcast, stating that being a model on the show made her feel like a bimbo.
Kirchione, who had a challenging week following Markle’s claims of objectification, expressed her thoughts in a lengthy post in response to the Royals’ new podcast episode.
In her Instagram post, Kirchione shared that she had the privilege of designing the looks for Deal or No Deal for all the women, including host Howie Mandel.
She emphasized that she had thought extensively about the matter and wouldn’t change a thing.
Kirchione revealed that there was a mission to do their best, take care of the entire team, and treat everyone with the respect they earned and deserved.
The Hollywood stylist went on to highlight the incredible opportunities that the women on the show had gained, such as securing other TV roles, appearing on Oprah, starting businesses, and more.
She referred to Deal or No Deal as a launchpad for many aspiring individuals.
It has been alleged that Megan Markle attempted to get closer to Howie Mandel, but not in an intellectual manner.
However, it is important to note that Mandel never engaged in conversation with Markle.
Mandel’s wife, Terry Mandel, expressed her discomfort with Markle’s behavior and requested that she be fired from the show, resulting in Markle’s departure.
Markle was disappointed that her role on Deal or No Deal did not allow her to showcase her intellectual abilities, as she felt that she was solely valued for her beauty rather than her brains.
Some Royal fans have criticized Markle for lacking intelligence, which may explain a consistent trait of hers, according to A.W.
Martin on Quora.
Martin commented that Markle was fully aware, both during the audition process and when accepting the job as a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal, that her intellectual capabilities were not a priority for this particular position.
Therefore, it seems somewhat unreasonable for her to claim that she felt like a bimbo and subsequently decided to quit working for the show.
Furthermore, after allegedly feeling like a bimbo on Deal or No Deal, Markle took on a role as the “blowjob girl” in the 90210 remake.
It is evident that Markle was not hired for her intellect in this role, unless the reference was to imitation oral s**, which does not require speaking.
Additionally, Markle appeared in multiple undressed and oversexed scenes in the TV series Suits, making her objection to being treated like a bimbo seem contradictory.
It is worth noting that Markle portrays herself as a feminist and a crusader against female stereotypes.
However, some of her previous work choices align with those very stereotypes.
It becomes embarrassing when one values themselves as highly as Markle does.
Most people would simply acknowledge that they were young and in need of work, and they made choices that did not align with their values at the time, leading them to move on.
This would make Markle appear more relatable and human.
However, her epiphany regarding her work choices seems to have come after being on the show for over 30 episodes.
Markle’s former co-workers who also appeared on Deal or No Deal expressed their disappointment with her comments.
Claudia Jordan, a former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and briefcase model, stated that the show never treated them like bimbos and that it actually helped kickstart her career.
