Lady Eliza and Amelia Spencer, the nieces of Princess Diana, captivated audiences at the Cannes Film Festival with their stunning appearances.

However, they are not the first women in the Spencer family to bring glamour to the festival's red carpet.

35 years after Princess Diana and Prince Charles attended the event in 1987, the 29-year-old twin daughters of Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, made a grand entrance at the premiere of Top Gun, Maverick on Wednesday night.

Dressed in floor-length gowns, they joined the A-list cast members in style.

Lady Amelia donned an elegant black one-shoulder dress with chiffon detailing, complemented by a sleek hairstyle and minimal makeup.

On the other hand, Lady Eliza wore a heavily embellished black coltan neck number.

Both sisters accessorized their glamorous looks with statement earrings.

Princess Diana herself had graced the Cannes Film Festival's red carpet at the age of 26, attending a gala night honoring actor Sir Alec Guinness alongside Prince Charles.

She mesmerized onlookers with a powder-blue strapless gown paired with a matching flowing scarf, an ensemble designed by her frequent collaborator Catherine Walker.

While Lady Eliza and Amelia made waves at the festival, there was a noticeable absence of Meghan and Harry.

They were not invited to Tom Cruise's premiere in London on Thursday either.

The popularity of the couple took a hit after Netflix scrapped Markle's animated show, Pearl.

Royal expert Andrew Pearce stated that Netflix realized the royal couple was not the investment they had anticipated.

The Sussexes had yet another challenging week as they prepared for the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

They shut down their charitable organization, MWX Foundation (formerly Sussex Royal) after the Queen disapproved of the “Royal” title.

The final liquidation report revealed costs of £130,583 ($160,000) incurred during the winding-up process.

Netflix, with whom the couple reportedly has a $100 million deal, was allegedly displeased when Prince Harry spoke to NBC about his meeting with the Queen in an interview titled “I'm just making sure she's protected.”

This occurred despite a Netflix documentary film crew already following him around.

Additionally, the couple's post-Netflix deal interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS last year caused further controversy.

As Netflix faces a decline in subscribers and a significant drop in stock value this year (almost 70%), it is speculated that the streaming service is hoping to capitalize on the Jubilee, which the Sussexes will attend.

However, reports suggest that Buckingham Palace staff are making plans to block Harry and Meghan's Netflix cameras if necessary.

A well-placed source revealed, “Even if they accept that their Netflix crew can't go into Buckingham Palace to film, they could cause problems and, at the very least, be a major distraction.”

Therefore, a team of palace aides will be on standby to closely monitor the crew and act as minders if needed.
