Megan Markle Faces Backlash for Allegedly Staging Christmas Photos Amid Ellen Controversy

Fans of Megan Markle have come to her defense after accusations surfaced on social media claiming that the Duchess of Sussex staged paparazzi pictures.

The controversy arose when photos of Megan on a Christmas shopping trip in Montecito circulated online, prompting some Twitter users to suggest that the Duchess had orchestrated the snapshots.

One user, going by the handle @lord_blacken, went as far as to claim that Megan, triggered by an article about the Ellen backlash, deliberately set up a paparazzi shoot, pretending to be busy with two phones that were actually switched off.

Another user, @his_grey_suit, alleged that she even called the paparazzi, stating that in Santa Barbara, where Megan resides, photographers are not typically lurking around waiting for her.

However, numerous supporters swiftly came to Megan's defense, dismissing the accusations.

One user with the handle @sneezecocoa wrote, “Megan looks absolutely gorgeous.

It's only natural for her to be photographed occasionally.

What I take issue with is the illegal and intrusive actions of the media and paparazzi.”

This controversy follows royal commentator Neil Sean's claim that Megan was so distraught by the backlash she faced after her appearance on the Ellen show that she has chosen to stay indoors.

Further fueling the controversy, a royal expert accused Megan of mocking the Queen in her 40th birthday video.

The video, released recently, features Megan announcing a new project called “40×40,” aimed at supporting women in the workplace through the help of other women.

In the video, Megan enlists the assistance of actress Melissa McCarthy, who proceeds to joke about various ways Megan could celebrate her 40th birthday, such as getting tattoos or hosting a yacht party, before revealing the details of the project.

Prince Harry also makes a cameo appearance, juggling in the background.

Throughout the video, both Megan and Melissa are seen drinking from traditional teacups, with Melissa even donning a hat and gloves at one point.

Taking to Twitter, royal expert Angela Levin questioned whether Megan and Melissa were mocking the Queen in the video.

She pointed out that they were holding old-fashioned cups and saucers, reminiscent of a blog post Megan wrote after her first meeting with the Queen.

Levin added, “The mockery shows what she thinks of the royal family.

She's got what she wanted and is confident she can outsmart us all.

We just have to wait for Harry's outpouring in his memoir.”

Responding to Levin's tweet, fellow royal biographer Robert Jobson suggested that the video was indeed poking fun at the British, employing an outdated caricature.

While some viewers found the video amusing, others believed it crossed the line into mockery.

However, the video's release coincided with birthday wishes from the Queen, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The official royal family Instagram account posted a message from the Queen, accompanied by three photos of Megan, including one taken during their joint visit to Chester in 2018 and another featuring Harry and Megan with their son Archie in South Africa.

Prince William and Kate Middleton also shared a photo from Megan's royal tour of Australia, extending their birthday wishes.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall joined in, sharing a picture of Megan from an event in Windsor in 2019.

In other news, there are rumors that the Queen may cancel the royal family's traditional Christmas at Sandringham due to the surge in Omicron cases.

Already, the monarch has canceled her pre-Christmas family party as Covid cases continue to rise.
