Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Lack of Affection Raises Concerns at Funeral
The recent funeral service for Queen Elizabeth II saw a distinct lack of affection between Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.
Body language expert Catty Alloysall pointed out the couple's unusual behavior, which deviated from their usual public displays of affection.
While they are often seen with their fingers interlocked, the couple maintained a noticeable distance throughout the service at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
Alloysall explained that this change in behavior could be a reaction to the intense criticism the couple has faced regarding their public displays of affection.
“It was interesting to note the lack of affection and mutual touch between Prince Harry and Meghan,” she said.
As they entered the church behind Prince William, Princess Kate, Charlotte, and George, the couple walked side by side but kept a formal distance.
Meghan appeared somber, keeping her head bowed and her eyes downcast, with her hands clasped in front of her.
This self-protective gesture could indicate a level of discomfort or uncertainty, as well as a sign of respect.
Once seated, the couple maintained a rigid formal distance, although they slightly oriented their bodies toward each other and mimicked each other's posture.
In addition to Prince Harry and Meghan, other members of the royal family also displayed unusual body language, showing signs of genuine sadness and distress.
Both Prince William and Prince Harry had compressed lips, furrowed brows, droopy eyelids, and an increase in blinking and swallowing, indicating that they were holding back tears.
Their father, King Charles, also exhibited signs of distress, engaging in pacifying and self-soothing gestures such as stroking the top of his sword and rocking backwards and forwards.
Catty explained that rocking is often seen in times of high psychological distress and is an effective way of reducing anxiety and tension.
The princes also rocked throughout the service.
However, it was particularly noticeable that as Harry and Meghan left the funeral, they appeared to have a small argument.
Although they didn't say anything out loud or yell at each other, their body language revealed tension.
In a viral video on Twitter, Meghan approached Harry from behind while he was engaged in a conversation with a guest.
She immediately interrupted him, blocking his words.
Harry seemed taken aback by this and looked away, choosing not to engage further.
However, as the couple entered the car, Harry exhaled deeply, suggesting underlying issues within their relationship.
While it is unclear if arguments are a common occurrence for the couple, it is evident that they are currently facing challenges in their marriage.
This stress was also apparent when Harry confronted Princess Royal Anne before the funeral.
A photo captured the moment when Harry appeared to be complaining to Anne, who was already devastated by the death of her mother.
Despite her grief, she showed remarkable tolerance in handling Harry's unreasonable behavior.
The lack of affection between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the funeral raises concerns about the state of their relationship.
As experts analyze their body language and interactions, it becomes evident that there may be underlying issues that the couple needs to address privately.
