Prince William and Catherine Attend Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey

Monday the 13th of March marked Commonwealth Day in the UK and Commonwealth countries.

As part of the day's events, many members of the royal family gathered at Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Day service.

It is always a delight to see which members of the family attend and what they choose to wear for the occasion.

Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, were in attendance, as they usually are.

They were joined by King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

Catherine looked stunning in an Erdem outfit worth £3,000, complemented by a diamond Prince of Wales feathers brooch, a thoughtful gift from the King.

She also wore a pair of glittering two-tiered flower-shaped earrings, previously owned by Princess Diana.

Interestingly, some royal fans speculate that Catherine may have thrown a subtle shade at Meghan with her choice of designer.

It was recently revealed that Catherine received priority treatment from Erdem over Meghan, which reportedly annoyed her.

This perceived slight adds to the ongoing tension between the two Duchesses.

Meghan, known for her love of navy outfits, may be feeling a bit frustrated right now.

It is worth noting that Catherine had been wearing Erdem designs to various engagements even before Meghan joined the royal family in 2016.

As an existing customer, Catherine was given priority over Meghan, causing dissatisfaction within the Sussexes.

The fact that Catherine received dresses from the British-born, Canadian designer before Meghan did not sit well with the couple.

Critics of Meghan's fashion choices argue that she lacks a sense of style.

They point out that her pants often lack proper hemming, and her formal dresses do not fit her well.

For instance, the Endeavour dress she wore was deemed disastrous, even on the model.

Meghan, however, sees herself as a trendsetter, especially as a woman of color, a facet of her identity that she only fully embraced after marrying Harry.

Both Meghan and Catherine shared a fondness for the designer Erdem, albeit with differing levels of priority.

Meghan may have underestimated Catherine's experience as a royal.

Catherine had been William's on-off girlfriend for a decade before they tied the knot, giving her a deeper understanding of royal protocols.

Meghan's assumption that she could easily navigate the world of royalty due to her skin tone may have led to some misjudgments.

Additionally, fashion designers naturally gravitate towards dressing the future queen consort rather than the wife of the fifth in line to the throne.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams commented on Harry and Meghan's perception within the Commonwealth before they stepped down as working royals.

They were seen as the modern face of the royal family, with significant appeal.

However, their views on the network of nations portrayed in their Netflix documentary series appeared more negative.

The chosen talking heads criticized the Commonwealth as an extension of British imperialism, which was unfortunate considering Queen Elizabeth II's efforts to nurture the institution.

It is worth noting that the Commonwealth consists of sovereign independent states, including recent additions like Togo and Gabon, which have no colonial connection to Britain.

While Harry and Meghan may have resented losing their patronages, it seems that the Commonwealth is not high on their priority list.
