Tyler Perry Demands $7 Million Refund from Sussexes Over Alleged Misuse of Funds for Montecito Mansion

Tyler Perry, the renowned filmmaker and actor, is reportedly furious with Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for their refusal to repay a $7 million loan that was used to purchase their Montecito mansion.

Perry, who is currently engrossed in a major project, requires all available resources to expedite the process.

According to an announcement on Perry's website, his ambitious plans for the property include dense housing, a grocery store, restaurants, shopping outlets, and various live entertainment options, including multiple theaters, one of which will seat a staggering 3,500 people.

In his memoir, himself admitted to borrowing money from Tyler Perry after staying at the billionaire's mansion, seemingly taking it for granted.

He wrote about their tour of the property, describing it as a dream.

They asked Perry for his opinion, and he advised them to buy it.

Consequently, they pooled their resources, made a down payment, secured a mortgage, and moved into the mansion in July 2020.

This incident is reminiscent of previous instances where others have footed the bill for their vacations, flights, and dinners.

It appears that Harry expected Tyler Perry to purchase the mansion on their behalf, as if he were responsible for their expenses.

Harry seemed to believe that since their safety had been compromised during their stay at Perry's mansion, Perry should provide them with an alternative residence.

However, he failed to realize that he had spent his entire life in a sheltered environment.

Like a child, he ran away from his cocoon and now struggles to comprehend why he is expected to cover his own expenses.

It is likely that he will complain about having to rely on the Spencer Trust Fund for the down payment, and he probably found the process of purchasing a house to be burdensome and inconvenient.

Over the years, Harry has received a minimum of $1-2 million in income from his trust funds, leaving the principal amount untouched.

It is unclear whether he reinvested the excess funds into the trust funds, thereby increasing the principal and annual income.

Allegedly, Harry never carried money with him, relying on friends and acquaintances to foot the bill.

At the time they purchased the Montecito mansion, Harry received $12.5 million from Diana's estate when he turned 30, as well as an additional $2 million from the Duchy of Cornwall.

Furthermore, it is rumored that Penguin Random House paid him an advance of $20 million for his upcoming memoir.

ET Canada has also reported that 's book deal includes four editions with a price tag of $35 million.

Meanwhile, Meghan, too, had a substantial income, with $5 million attributed to her career.

At the time of the mansion purchase, Meghan had already published two books and was working on another cookbook.

Additionally, she had secured a Spotify deal worth approximately $25 million.

It should be noted that Harry did not pay the reported $7 million for their interview.

However, despite all these financial opportunities, Harry is still expecting Tyler Perry to contribute half of the mansion's cost.

According to the source, Harry and Meghan have yet to reimburse Tyler Perry for the loan after all these years.

Their narrative regarding the mansion purchase differs from what was previously shared, as they initially claimed to be searching for properties with two palm trees, exclaiming, “Look, Mama and Papa!”

Yet, there was no mention of Tyler Perry's involvement.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that Tyler Perry allegedly evicted them from his own house after one of their housekeepers was pushed into the pool.

It appears that Harry and Meghan manipulate the truth to suit their new narrative.
