Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reveal First Photo of Daughter Lilibet in 2021 Christmas Card
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, delighted their fans by sharing the first glimpse of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, in their official Christmas card for 2021.
The family portrait captures a joyful moment, with Meghan cradling little Lilibet in her arms, while the entire family shares a laugh.
Lilibet, affectionately called Lily, is the couple's second child, following the birth of their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6, 2019.
Interestingly, the photo reveals that Archie has inherited his father's distinctive red hair.
In their Christmas card, Harry and Meghan expressed their joy at welcoming Lilibet into the world this year, emphasizing how Archie had made them parents and how Lily completed their family.
Looking ahead to 2022, the couple made charitable donations on behalf of their loved ones to various organizations dedicated to supporting and protecting families.
These include Team Rubicon, Welcome!
U.S., Human First Coalition, Humanity Crew, Paid Leave for All, PL Plus U.S., and Marshall Plan for Moms, as stated in the card and confirmed by the Archul Foundation, their charitable entity.
With warm wishes for the holiday season and a prosperous new year, the Sussexes signed off the card as Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lily.
It is worth noting that this year's Christmas card differs from the previous year's, which featured a stylized image of Harry, Meghan, Archie, and their rescue dogs, Guy and Pula.
The current photo was taken at their home earlier in December, skillfully captured by Meghan's mother, according to a Sussex spokesperson.
The intimate details of the photo include a small Christmas tree adorned with handmade ornaments and other decorations, all personally chosen by young Archie.
After the festive season, the tree will be replanted, showcasing the family's commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Since relocating to the United States in March 2020, Harry and Meghan have been fiercely protective of their children's privacy.
In fact, they took legal action against a paparazzi agency that captured drone footage of their son, Archie, while he was inside the California residence where they initially stayed.
The couple successfully sued the agency, X17, and received both a settlement and an apology.
During their revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, Meghan opened up about her fear of appearing before the world's press with Archie soon after his birth.
She contrasted her experience with that of her sister-in-law, who confidently posed for pictures during each of her three pregnancies.
This further highlights the couple's determination to shield their children from intrusive media attention.
