Meghan Markle Faces Cold Reception from Prince Andrew at Royal Family Gathering
Meghan Markle, 36, is set to marry Prince Harry, 33, in a grand royal wedding ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
While the wedding has been approved by Queen Elizabeth II, 91, it seems that not every member of the royal family is thrilled about Meghan's arrival.
According to an exclusive source revealed to Express UK, one particular family member gave her a rather chilly reception at her first major family gathering.
Although Prince Philip, 96, is said to be a fan of Meghan, his second oldest son, Prince Andrew, 58, seems to hold a noticeable dislike towards her compared to the rest of the royals.
The Duke of York's negative reaction stood out during Meghan's introduction to the family at Sandringham House last Christmas, as shared by our source.
Despite Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice getting along splendidly with Meghan, and Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex, and his family being perfectly fine, Prince Andrew's cold reception was hard to miss.
“The Duke of York showed a distinct lack of warmth towards Meghan,” the source disclosed.
It is worth noting that the Duke of York's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, was not present at the gathering as she was away in Australia at the time.
Therefore, we cannot say for certain how she would have reacted to Meghan's presence, the source added.
However, it has been previously noted that Meghan Markle and Sarah Ferguson bear a resemblance to each other.
The source also provided some additional details about the Sandringham House family event, which was attended by the Queen herself.
“The atmosphere was formal, and they all had meals together downstairs before spending the evening in the saloon,” the source revealed.
It seems that despite the overall pleasantness of the gathering, Prince Andrew's negative demeanor towards Meghan was quite evident.
In other news, Meghan Markle recently announced her engagement to feminist causes ahead of the royal wedding.
Alongside Prince Harry, she will be making an official appearance at a reception dedicated to women's empowerment on April 19.
