Meghan and Harry’s Celebrity Friends Abandon Couple, Leaving Them Out of A-List Circles
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have received a cautionary message from a royal commentator, who believes that their celebrity friends may distance themselves from the couple.
NBC royal correspondent Neil Sean has advised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to cherish the support of their famous acquaintances, as celebrities can be capricious and may seize any opportunity to perform for the royal family or visit the palace.
Expressing his thoughts on his YouTube channel, Sean remarked, “What I think William and Harry are both going to learn the hard way moving forward is this: celebrities are very fickle.
They will attach themselves to whoever at the right time.”
He further mentioned that Prince Harry had a good rapport with Jon Bon Jovi, as they collaborated on a charity single at the renowned Abbey Road Studios.
However, due to the ongoing family feud, it becomes challenging to maintain such connections.
Sean questioned, “Who do you take the side with?”
Speculation is rife about the future implications for the friends associated with both Harry and William, with many believing that there will eventually be only one king, and that would be William.
Drawing on his knowledge of celebrities, Sean advised Prince Harry to relish the current attention from those wanting to associate themselves with him and Meghan Markle.
He added, “Moving forward, I can see the celebrities, given an opportunity to perform in front of royalty, will definitely take that over some hotel in the middle of Manhattan.”
Following their recent visit to New York City, it was revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle aimed to position themselves alongside the crème de la crème of the A-list crowd.
An insider disclosed that there were raised eyebrows not only in New York but also in Hollywood, as many perceived the couple's actions as an attempt to elevate their status above their peers.
The insider stated, “They seem to want to bask in their old royal status and enjoy all the attention and benefits that go with that, which is a turn off for a lot of people.”
This revelation comes amidst reports of Prince Harry's diminishing popularity in the UK.
Recent polls indicate that his approval rating has dropped from 43% to 34%, while Meghan Markle's popularity has also suffered a decline, falling from 29% to 26%.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced criticism for discussing their time as senior royals, their weekend trip to New York, and signing lucrative deals with streaming giants Netflix and Spotify.
Highlighting the importance of managing their public image, Sean emphasized, “Harry and Meghan need to seriously think about where they're going to go with their brand moving forward.
They can't afford such relentless bad PR.”
He referred to various incidents, including the controversial birthday video, the release of Meghan's children's book “The Bench,” and their recent trip to New York, which have contributed to the negative perception surrounding the couple.
Moreover, the couple has faced accusations of confusing the public with their royal visits.
During their stay in New York, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Global Citizen live concert in Central Park and also met with New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Cathy Hatchul.
Sean warned the couple about potential scheduling conflicts if they were to visit the same places as the royal family.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle navigate their new life outside the royal institution, they must carefully consider their actions and associations, as the fickleness of celebrity friendships may pose challenges in maintaining their A-list status.
