Zara Tindall’s Quirky Nickname for Mike Revealed in Podcast Gaffe
In a light-hearted moment during a recent podcast, Zara Tindall accidentally spilled the beans about her unusual nickname for her husband, Mike.
The couple, who first crossed paths back in 2003 and tied the knot in 2011, have built a relationship filled with affection and playful banter, including a host of quirky nicknames for each other.
Zara, the daughter of Princess Anne and not formally part of the royal family, met Mike while traveling.
Their connection blossomed into a romance, leading to marriage and three children.
Over the years, they've cultivated a unique bond, often expressing their love through whimsical monikers that reflect their playful personalities.
On the Total Sport podcast, Mike, a former rugby star, shared some of the affectionate names they've come up with.
Among the more traditional ones is “My Love,” a sweet term of endearment.
But as Mike noted, their repertoire includes some rather unconventional choices as well.
He humorously admitted, “We basically call each other munchkins a lot,” though he couldn't quite recall how that particular nickname came about.
The conversation took an amusing turn when Mike hinted at a more risqué name that Zara might use.
It seems that the couple enjoys shortening names, much like Meghan Markle does with Prince Harry, who she affectionately calls “H.” This trend of using initials is clearly a favorite among the Tindalls too.
During a memorable moment on the reality show I'm a Celebrity, Zara read a heartfelt letter to Mike, humorously titled “Get Me Out of Here.”
In her message, she expressed how much they missed him, adding, “Hello my love, we're missing you a lot and would really like a papa hug.” Her words painted a vivid picture of their family life, with their little one thriving and the girls busy with sports.
Zara also revealed that Mike's name in her phone is not just “Munchkin” or “Mikey.”
When he's not responding, she resorts to calling him by his full name, Michael Tindall.
Mike chuckled at this, suggesting that there's a cheeky word preceding it that listeners could easily guess.
