Meghan Markle’s UK Return for Platinum Jubilee in Jeopardy Due to Negative Publicity
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, may cancel her planned return to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee due to the backlash she received during her recent visit to Texas, according to a royal expert.
This would be her first visit to the UK since stepping down as a senior royal in March 2020.
However, royal expert Neil Sean suggests that Meghan might change her mind at the last minute, considering the unfavorable reception she expects from the public, particularly in London and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Sean shared his insights on his YouTube channel, stating that the negative publicity stemming from her visit to Texas could influence Meghan's decision to pull the plug on her return to London for the Platinum Jubilee.
He drew a parallel to a previous incident when Prince Harry also decided not to attend certain events due to security concerns, such as the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue and Prince Philip's memorial service.
During her visit to Texas, Meghan paid her respects to the victims of a school shooting by laying flowers at a memorial site.
She placed a bouquet of white roses, adorned with a purple ribbon, at one of the crosses erected in honor of the 19 children and two teachers who lost their lives.
Meghan's spokesperson clarified that she made the trip in a personal capacity as a mother, offering condolences and support to a grieving community.
Photographs captured Meghan looking down at the white crosses bearing the names of the victims, particularly focusing on the cross dedicated to 10-year-old Uzziah Garcia, which had the words “You Will Be Missed” written on it.
The Los Angeles Times reported on this heartfelt gesture.
Notably, Meghan undertook this visit alone, without her husband Harry.
She was dressed casually in a baseball cap, T-shirt, jeans, and trainers.
The tragic incident occurred when an 18-year-old student opened fire at Rob Elementary School, resulting in the deadliest school attack since the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in 2012.
Despite the emotional nature of her visit, Meghan's actions have revived discussions about her strained relationship with her father.
However, a royal expert, Duncan Larkham, believes that a reconciliation between Meghan and her father is unlikely.
Larkham, a royal author and former royal editor for The Sun, mentioned that Meghan has not released any statements indicating a desire to reconcile, suggesting that the bridge between them has been burned.
He referenced past incidents before the wedding, describing them as duplicitous rather than naive.
In addition to the Texas visit, scrutiny has also fallen on Harry and Meghan's recent appearances at polo matches.
Richard Eden from the Daily Mail expressed concerns about their multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, suggesting that the couple may be facing difficulties.
Eden recalled Meghan's previous reservations about Harry participating in polo matches unless they raised substantial amounts for charity.
He noted Meghan's involvement in these events, including trophy presentations, as well as her attendance at the Invictus Games, implying that these actions might indicate underlying issues.
Eden further commented on the challenges faced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in maintaining their star status.
He mentioned their efforts in developing Pearl, their production company, and the uncertainties surrounding Harry's memoir.
It appears that the couple is navigating through a period of change and uncertainty.
As Meghan Markle contemplates her return to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee, the negative publicity she received during her visit to Texas weighs heavily on her decision.
The public's perception, particularly in London and its surroundings, will play a significant role in determining whether she ultimately decides to follow through with her plans.
