Oscars 2022: A Glitzy Return to Hollywood’s Glamour

The 94th Academy Awards is gearing up for a grand comeback to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood after last year's subdued ceremony and low ratings.

As we prepare for this highly anticipated event, let's delve into all the details surrounding the 2022 Oscars, from where to watch the live show to the expected winners and the controversies that have stirred up conversations.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 27, as the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles sets the stage for the Oscars.

The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 8 p.m.

ET and will be broadcast live on ABC.

This year, the prestigious event will be co-hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes, marking a departure from the previous three years without an emcee.

According to producer Will Packer, each of these talented women brings their unique flair to the show.

While more names are expected to be added to the list of award presenters throughout the week, some notable stars confirmed to grace the Oscar night stage include Bill Murray, Lady Gaga, Kevin Costner, Samuel L. Jackson, Zoe Kravitz, Anthony Hopkins, Lily James, Daniel Kaluuya, Mila Kunis, John Leguizamo, Dee Malou, Rami Malek, Lupita Nyong'o, and Rosie Perez.

Addressing one pre-show controversy, the Academy put an end to the uproar surrounding West Side Story star Rachel Zegler's absence from the presenter lineup.

After her social media post about not receiving an Oscar invite created a stir, the Academy reversed its decision and included Zegler as a presenter.

Joining her as presenters are Jason Momoa, Serena and Venus Williams, J.K. Simmons, Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jacob Lordi, and Jill Scott.

The star-studded event will also feature captivating performances by Chris Rock, Naomi Scott, Wesley Snipes, Uma Thurman, John Travolta, Yuh-Jung Yoon, Ruthie Carter, Halle Bailey, Sean Diddy Combs, Jamie Lee Curtis, Woody Harrelson, Shawn Mendes, Tyler Perry, Tracee Ellis Ross, Stephanie Beatrice, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Garner, H.E.R., Tiffany Haddish, Tony Hawk, Elliot Page, Kelly Slater, and Sean White.

However, there's one notable couple missing from the guest list.

The Sussexes, and , will not be attending the Oscars, as confirmed by the organizers.

Although sources close to the after parties and other events surrounding the awards show suggest that the newly settled California residents might make an appearance, a potential encounter with Kristen Stewart, who portrays in the critically acclaimed film Spencer, has given them pause.

It seems that Harry is particularly disheartened by the movie, which dramatizes a specific moment in his late mother's life.

This unexpected turn of events could disappoint royal fans who were eagerly anticipating a red carpet moment with the Sussexes at the 94th Academy Awards.

While the couple had been invited to all the prominent events and initially planned on attending the Oscars, the likelihood of crossing paths with Stewart, who is almost guaranteed a Best Actress nomination, has made them reconsider.

As of now, there is no definitive decision, and there is still time for the couple to figure things out.

Sources close to them suggest that Meghan might be able to convince Harry that it won't be a significant issue.

She reportedly believes they can either ignore Kristen or maintain brief politeness.

However, Harry's authenticity and raw emotions may sway him towards skipping the Oscars altogether.

Nevertheless, Meghan is eager to reestablish their presence in the Hollywood scene.
