Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Hollywood Dreams Fading Away

It seems that the magic dust surrounding and has lost its sparkle, according to a royal commentator who criticized the couple's career in Hollywood.

Almost two years ago, news broke that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had signed a whopping $100 million deal with Netflix to produce documentaries, movies, and children's programs.

However, despite having projects in the pipeline, the couple has yet to deliver any content for the streaming giant.

This comes at a time when Netflix is facing significant losses in subscribers, resulting in a staggering $200 billion decline in its value this year alone.

As a result, questions are being raised about whether the Sussexes can still achieve their original career goals.

Renowned royal reporter Danielle Elser has expressed doubts about Meghan and Harry's future with Netflix, citing the streaming giant's recent struggles.

Elser pointed out that not only has Netflix's once dominant position in the entertainment industry weakened, but the future prospects of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also appear less certain.

She added that Harry and Meghan have failed to establish themselves as influential figures in Washington, New York, Silicon Valley, or Los Angeles.

Over the past two years, the enchantment of their royalty has faded, along with the novelty factor.

Furthermore, their momentum in striking new deals seems to have dwindled, with no announcements made since July 2021 when it was revealed that Harry was working on a memoir.

In early 2020, Meghan and Harry officially stepped down from their senior roles within the royal family and decided to start afresh in the United States.

They subsequently signed multi-million pound deals with Netflix and Spotify.

Under Archul Audio on Spotify, the couple released a holiday special podcast episode in December 2020.

Earlier this year, Meghan announced her upcoming podcast, “Archetypes,” aiming to address typecasting and stereotyping of women.

Although the launch was expected this summer, no further updates have been provided since March.

On the other hand, Netflix has only announced Harry's documentary, “Heart of Invictus,” which focuses on a sporting event for Wounded Armed Services personnel, and Meghan's animated children's series called “Pearl.”

However, in a cost-cutting move, Netflix recently decided to cancel “Pearl.”

According to Elser, the lack of content released by the Sussexes raises the question of what they have actually achieved.

She highlights that if the couple had been consistently producing series, documentaries, and specials for Netflix over the past 712 days, the situation might be different.

However, that has not been the case.

Since Netflix's earnings call in April, the company has laid off numerous employees and even introduced advertising to its platform.

This raises concerns about whether Netflix can continue to support high-profile stars who fail to deliver.

The same doubts extend to Spotify as well.

With autumn just weeks away, time is ticking for the couple to make their mark.

In conclusion, and 's Hollywood careers seem to have hit a roadblock.

Despite signing lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify, the couple has yet to produce substantial content for these platforms.

As Netflix faces losses in subscribers and a decline in its value, doubts are growing about the Sussexes' ability to achieve their original career goals.

The clock is ticking, and both Netflix and Spotify may soon run out of patience and faith in their big-name hires.
