Prince Philip Mourns Personal Loss While Battling Hospital Infection

, the Duke of Edinburgh, is facing a double heartache as he mourns a personal loss while battling an infection in the hospital.

It has been revealed that on the day he was admitted to King Edward VII's hospital in London, his friend and former royal page passed away.

This news comes nearly two weeks after his admission.

Royal commentator and expert Robert Jobson shared that the loss will deeply affect , as his royal page was someone he likely saw every day.

Speaking on True Royalty TV, Mr. Jobson expressed his condolences, stating, “The other day when Prince Philip went into the hospital, his royal page, who was with him for many years, died on the day the Duke went in.

That is sad news for the Duke as well.

The members of your staff that have been with you on a daily basis, and he is a lot younger than the Duke, when you hear that, it is quite difficult.

A lot of his friends have passed away, a lot of his staff have passed away.”

Adding to this sentiment, royal commentator Dickie Arbiter mentioned that Prince Philip will be eagerly awaiting his chance to leave the hospital and return home.

Arbiter believes that the Duke doesn't enjoy being in the hospital and prefers to avoid any unnecessary attention.

He stated, “Prince Philip doesn't want to be in the hospital, and my guess is he will come out fairly soon.

He doesn't like a fuss, he has never done, and the sooner he gets home, the better for him.”

's 99-year-old husband was initially admitted to the hospital on February 16th as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell.

After spending 14 days there, he was transferred to St Bartholomew's Hospital, a top hospital in London, due to concerns over a pre-existing heart condition.

In a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Monday morning, it was announced that Prince Philip would be receiving treatment for an infection at St Bartholomew's Hospital, along with further testing and observation for his heart condition.

The statement read, “The Duke of Edinburgh is today transferred from King Edward VII Hospital to St Bartholomew's Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition.

The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in the hospital until at least the end of the week.”
