Prince William and Kate Middleton Have Plans in Place for Princess Charlotte’s Future, Says Royal Expert
The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly made careful arrangements for Princess Charlotte's role as the spare in the royal family, according to a royal expert.
In a recent interview with the Telegraph, Prince Harry expressed concerns about the future of the other spares in the family to his brother, Prince William.
However, Vanity Fair's Katie Nicholl believes that William and Kate have it all figured out when it comes to their daughter's future role.
Speaking on the podcast Dynasty, Nicholl shared her insights, stating that George, Charlotte, and Louis are enjoying a childhood that Harry and William didn't have the opportunity to experience.
She emphasized that William and Kate are focused on raising their children with an understanding of their royal heritage while also allowing them to be ordinary kids.
Nicholl explained that they want to prevent the next generation from enduring the same difficulties that Harry has faced.
The royal expert highlighted that the Cambridge family is intentionally providing their children with a normal upbringing, away from the constant spotlight.
They attend regular schools, live in a cottage on the Windsor grounds, enjoy bucket and spade holidays, and even learn to sail on the broads in Norfolk.
Nicholl acknowledged that this approach raises questions about Princess Charlotte's future as the spare, but she is confident that William and Kate have a plan in place.
Prince Harry previously expressed his worries for Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in an interview, acknowledging that at least one of them will likely face the same challenges he has as the spare.
Despite William's reassurances that his children are not Harry's responsibility, Harry still feels a sense of duty towards them.
In the line of succession, Prince George, William's firstborn, is second in line to the throne, followed by Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
However, recent reports suggest that during the coronation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with the Duke of York, are unlikely to join the King and Queen Consort on the balcony.
The news of William and Kate's proactive approach to Princess Charlotte's future has sparked discussions among royal enthusiasts.
