Why Lady Louis Missed Out on a New Title as Fans Outrage at Sexist Rules

Lady Louis, the daughter of and Sophie Countess of Wessex, has been left without a new title following her father's recent promotion to the Duke of Edinburgh.

This has sparked outrage among many fans around the world who question why she has been excluded.

Experts in UK constitutional law and politics explain that the current rules prevent Lady Louis from taking on another title due to her position in the line of succession.

While it is possible for the King to grant her a title, it seems that her parents have chosen not to pursue this option.

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator, suggests that Lady Louis's unchanged title reflects her family's lack of plans for her to become a working member of the royal family.

It is speculated that there will be fewer royals performing official duties in the future.

When and Sophie married in 1990, Buckingham Palace announced that their children would not be given the style His or Her Royal Highness, but would have courtesy titles as Sons or Daughters of an Earl.

Sophie has since stated that they are raising their children with the expectation that they will have to work for a living.

Lady Louis turned 18 in November 2021 and did not choose to take on the Princess title.

She began her studies at St. Andrews University in September 2022, majoring in English.

Lady Louis currently holds the 15th position in the line of succession, with her younger brother ahead of her in 14th place.

The Succession to the Crown Act of 2013 abolished the tradition of male primogeniture, where men would take precedence over women regardless of age.

However, this legislation only applies to those born after October 28, 2011, which means Lady Louis's brother remains ahead of her.

The Princess Royal, the King's sister, also missed out on moving up the ranks and currently holds the 16th position in the line of succession.

Royal fans have expressed their frustration on social media, believing it is unfair that Lady Louis has not received a new title while her younger brother has.

Some have even encouraged her to claim her birthright as a Princess.

On the other hand, there are those who feel it is time for the royal family to break free from old-fashioned protocols and embrace the 21st century.

Lady Louis is known to be a private individual and is rarely seen in public.

Although she has accompanied her parents to various royal engagements, it remains uncertain if she will take on any official royal duties in the future.

The situation has sparked a debate among royal enthusiasts, with many sharing their opinions in the comment section.

As we await further developments, it is clear that this issue has stirred strong emotions among fans worldwide.

In conclusion, the absence of a new title for Lady Louis has caused controversy and raised questions about gender equality within the royal family.

While some argue that tradition should be respected, others believe it is time for a more modern approach.

Lady Louis's future role within the royal family remains uncertain, but one thing is certain – this topic will continue to captivate the attention of royal watchers around the globe.
