Tom Cruise’s Epic Tribute to King Charles III Leaves Royal Fans Wondering

On May 6th, the coronation ceremony for King Charles III and Queen took place, and among the distinguished guests were some unexpected Hollywood stars.

One of them was none other than Katy Perry, who attended as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust Children Protection Fund, an organization founded by the king himself in 2007.

Another surprise guest was Lionel Richie, former co-lead singer of The Commodores, who holds the position of first global ambassador and first chairman of the Global Ambassador Group for The Prince's Trust, the king's charity.

Not only were Perry and Richie present as ambassadors, but they also graced the stage with their performances at the coronation concert, held at Windsor Castle on May 7th.

Perry delivered a powerful rendition of her hits “Roar” and “Firework,” while Richie treated the audience to The Commodores' timeless classics “Easy” and “All Night Long, All Night.”

The concert was truly magical, thanks to these incredible musical performances.

However, one moment from the concert stood out above the rest – Tom Cruise's epic tribute to King Charles.

In a pre-recorded segment titled “Did You Know?,” Cruise made a cameo appearance, flying his famous Top Gun plane as he delivered his tribute to the king.

“Pilot to pilot, your majesty, you can be my wingman anytime,” Cruise declared.

This memorable tribute has left some royal fans puzzled about how Cruise secured an invitation to the coronation in the first place.

Although Cruise doesn't hold an ambassadorial title like Perry and Richie, he has his own special connections to the Royal family.

His relationship with the Royals dates back to the 1990s when he met and befriended .

Furthermore, Cruise had the privilege of privately meeting II on a few occasions.

According to a source, the Queen was fond of Cruise and even invited him for lunch, allowing him to arrive by helicopter.

Cruise has expressed his admiration for , stating, “She's just a woman that I greatly admire.

I think she's someone who has tremendous dignity, and I admire her devotion.”

Interestingly, this wasn't the first time Cruise received an invitation to a royal event.

He was prominently present at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022, where he served as a guest host for the A Gallop Through History event at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Moreover, Cruise was seen mingling with and at the Top Gun Maverick premiere in London in May 2022.

During the premiere, Cruise remarked on his similarities with Prince Charles, saying, “We have a lot in common.

We both love England, and we're both aviators.

We both love flying.

In that case, perhaps would make the better wingman, no?”

Unfortunately, rumors suggest that Cruise's relationship with one former working royal couple has soured.

According to a source, Cruise closely followed the saga of and and was shocked by it all.

The insider claimed that Cruise was once a big fan of Meghan's and had even considered casting her in one of his films.

However, following the highly publicized drama between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family, any opportunities for collaboration were off the table.

The source added that Meghan and Harry seemed envious of losing out on this Hollywood friendship but acknowledged that Cruise is just one of many power players who have distanced themselves from the couple.

It seems unlikely that Cruise will be enlisting as his honorary wingman anytime soon.

But for now, this tale of unexpected connections and friendships remains an intriguing story in the world of royalty and Hollywood.
