Princess Anne’s Signature Curtsy: Welcoming Jordan’s Royal Family to the UK
Princess Anne showcased her signature elaborate curtsies once again as she joined her mother, Queen Elizabeth, in extending a warm welcome to Jordan's royal family during their visit to the UK.
The Queen and her daughter played host to King Abdullah II, Queen Rania, and their son Crown Prince Hussein during a private audience at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
During the meeting, Princess Anne, known for her graceful curtsies, dipped low in a display of respect and courtesy for her esteemed guests.
This is not the first time the Princess Royal has impressed with her curtsy; she also performed an equally elaborate one when meeting the King and Queen of Spain in 2017.
While the Queen chose a classic ivory dress, black court shoes, and a gold brooch for the occasion, Queen Rania looked characteristically chic in a fuchsia midi dress paired with lilac court shoes.
Her hair cascaded down in loose curls, adding to her elegant appearance.
The 48-year-old queen appeared delighted to be reunited with the British royals, with whom she shares a long-standing positive relationship.
After a round of photographs, the Queen and Princess Royal held a private meeting with their esteemed guests, followed by a lunch hosted at the palace.
This visit by the Jordanian royals comes just weeks after King Abdullah celebrated the 20th anniversary of his reign.
He ascended to the throne on February 7, 1999, following the passing of his father, King Hussein.
The royal family's visit to the UK coincided with their attendance at the conference “Jordan, Growth and Opportunity,” where Queen Rania delivered a speech on economic development and growth.
Queen Rania, formerly known as Rania Al-Yassin, hails from a prominent Jordanian family of Palestinian descent.
She completed her schooling in Kuwait before pursuing a business degree in Cairo, Egypt.
