Duchess of Cambridge Pays Tribute to Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II at Funeral

On Saturday, April 17, the royal family gathered at St George's Chapel to bid farewell to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away on April 9 at the age of 99.

The funeral was a solemn occasion, with members of the royal family coming together to honor his life and legacy.

Among them was the Duchess of Cambridge, who made a heartfelt gesture by wearing royal family heirlooms that symbolized her connection to both Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duchess arrived at St George's Chapel in Windsor alongside her husband, Prince William, dressed in an elegant black Roland Moret ensemble and wearing a black face mask.

She chose to wear the iconic Japanese pearl choker necklace, which holds great significance for both the Queen and the late Princess Diana.

This four-strand necklace with a central diamond clasp was commissioned by Queen Elizabeth herself, using pearls given to her by the Japanese government.

It is worth noting that Princess Diana had previously worn this stunning necklace to a state banquet in 1982.

In addition to the pearl choker, the Duchess also wore a pair of pearl earrings, believed to be the Queen's Bahrain pearl drop earrings.

These earrings, made from pearls gifted to the Queen by the Hakim of Bahrain as a wedding present, were a poignant choice for the occasion.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the service was limited to 30 guests.

Also in attendance were the spouses of Charles, Anne, and Edward, the Duchess of Cornwall, Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence, and the Countess of Wessex.

Prince William and Harry's cousins, Peter Phillips, Zara and Mike Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Vice-Count Severn, were also present.
