Royal Retreat: Inside Princess Kate’s Lavish £31 Million Home at Amher Hall

Nestled within the prestigious Sandringham estate, Princess Kate, also known as the Princess of Wales, is currently recuperating at the opulent Amher Hall following her recent stomach surgery.

This 19th-century estate has seen several royal proprietors throughout its storied history.

Following her surgical procedure last month, Princess Kate has chosen the tranquil surroundings of Amher Hall for her recovery.

After a period of recuperation at their Berkshire abode, the Princess of Wales has embarked on a well-deserved half-term getaway with her children – Prince George, , and – to Norfolk.

The royal family will be residing at their Sandringham estate during this rejuvenating retreat.

Kensington Palace's spokesperson announced on January 17 that the princess, aged 42, is unlikely to resume her royal duties until after Easter, based on medical recommendations.

During Princess Kate's convalescence, temporarily stepped back from his royal obligations to provide care for her and their three children.

The young royals are enrolled at Lambrook School, conveniently located a mere 15-minute drive from the Windsor estate.

Amher Hall, a charming 19th-century country manor situated in Georgia, was acquired by the Sandringham estate following Queen Victoria's acquisition of the land.

This historical residence has been leased by various individuals over the years, including business tycoons, government officials, and members of the royal family.

As a wedding gift, the late II bestowed this palace upon the couple, who now call it their country home.

Originally built in 1802, Amher Hall has undergone multiple renovations, with the most recent remodelling in 2021 costing an estimated £1.5 million.

Boasting 10 bedrooms spread across two storeys, this estate features a former attic with dormer windows.

The south front of the property comprises thirteen bays, recently refurbished with brick, and adorned with 11 windows on the first level and 13 windows on the ground floor, set within blank arches.

A semicircular porch supported by two Tuscan columns adds to the grandeur of the exterior.

Although initially listed as a Grade U-listed building in 1984, Amher Hall was later removed from the list.

The property includes an outdoor tennis court and a swimming pool, catering to the active lifestyle preferences of Kate and William.

The interior design of the residence is a harmonious blend of contemporary elements and cherished antiques, featuring gilded picture frames and lush houseplants as embellishments.

Renowned designer Ben Pentreath, known for his work with Prince Charles's Duchy of Cornwall, oversaw the interior decor of the property.
