Abigail Spencer Shares Megan Markle’s Surprise Message on The Kelly Clarkson Show
Abigail Spencer made a guest appearance on the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show alongside her extended family co-star, Donald Faison.
During the show, Spencer, known for her role in Suits alongside Meghan Markle, revealed a special message from Meghan to the host, Kelly Clarkson.
“Meg says hello and that she loves you and that she voted for you on American Idol,” Spencer conveyed to Clarkson.
To which Clarkson humorously responded, “It worked.”
Spencer elaborated on how the unexpected message unfolded, stating, “This was unsolicited.
Megan didn't know I was coming on here.
We were just chatting, and I mentioned I was going to see Kelly next week, and she immediately had a message to pass along.”
Spencer also shared an anecdote about Meghan dining with Michael Bublé, who allegedly praised her singing, to which Clarkson jokingly dismissed as flattery, saying, “He's lying, but I love him.”
However, Clarkson's response to the exchange stirred some reactions online, with many poking fun at her for appearing overly eager.
Comments flooded social media, with one user remarking, “My God, such cringey desperate wannabe move lol.
She has to say it's unsolicited.
Looks even more fake, rehearsed and contrived.”
Another critic wrote, “She voted for you on American Idol.
That was how many years, hit songs, Grammys, Emmys and other awards and a talk show ago, compared to her marrying a dumb prince.
I can't believe the stupidity.”
Despite the mixed reactions, Spencer emphasized that Meghan was genuinely surprised by her appearance on the show and promptly informed her about the upcoming interaction with Kelly Clarkson.
A third observer chimed in, noting, “I see she's an academic, just like her best friend,” referring to Meghan's scholarly background.
The dynamics of Clarkson's responses to Meghan versus Michael Bublé were also scrutinized, highlighting contrasting tones and levels of enthusiasm.
During the show, Abigail delved into her bond with Meghan, recalling their initial meeting in 2007 during a pilot audition for NBC.
She recounted being captivated by Meghan's presence and shared how their friendship blossomed over time, especially upon discovering they shared the same birthday.
Reflecting on their connection, Abigail praised Meghan as an incredible person, shedding light on their evolving camaraderie.
As the conversation steered towards Meghan's career and accomplishments, Abigail playfully mentioned their work together on the show Suits, prompting a lighthearted response from Kelly Clarkson.
The exchange showcased a blend of banter and jest, with Abigail subtly defending Meghan's acting prowess amidst playful banter.
However, Clarkson swiftly redirected the conversation, signaling a shift away from the topic of Meghan.
Notably, Donald Faison's reaction to Abigail's anecdotes added a comedic touch to the segment, with his playful skepticism drawing laughter from the audience.
The dynamic between the guests and host offered a glimpse into the rapport shared among the cast members, interspersed with witty remarks and light-hearted exchanges.
The episode highlighted the camaraderie and humor present among the ensemble, creating an engaging and entertaining segment for viewers.
