Royal Drama Unfolds: Meghan Markle Rejects Gift and Support Plea from Penny Mordaunt

Meghan Markle, the former Duchess of Sussex, has reportedly turned down a heartfelt gesture from Penny Mordaunt, the leader of the House of Commons.

Mordaunt, aged 51, disclosed that she had sent a specially crafted necklace to Meghan, created by survivors of human trafficking.

However, the Lord President of the Council revealed that she did not receive any acknowledgment from the mother of two.

At the time, Mordaunt was collaborating with the charity Eden, which provides training in jewellery-making to survivors of human trafficking in Myanmar, a region in Southeast Asia known for its prevalence of such survivors.

Southeast Asia is recognized as a region that harbors more than half of the global population of human trafficking survivors.

Mordaunt's gesture towards Meghan was intended as a supportive act when she was relatively new to the royal family.

Regrettably, there was no response from Meghan, leaving Mordaunt disappointed.

The Conservative MP also highlighted that other Members of Parliament had made efforts to establish contact with the Duchess, but to no avail.
