Harry and Meghan’s Spotify Deal Lingers on Their Website Despite Being Axed

and are still holding onto their terminated Spotify deal, as it remains prominently displayed on their official website.

The couple had inked an exclusive $25 million agreement with the streaming platform as part of their efforts to achieve financial independence post their royal family exit.

Unfortunately, the partnership came to an abrupt end last summer following the production of just one podcast by the Sussexes.

Despite the fallout, the Sussexes have yet to remove any mention of the Spotify deal from their website, where it is still listed as one of their accomplishments.

In their quest to distance themselves financially from the royal family, Harry and Meghan actively pursued collaborations with various platforms.

However, the Spotify collaboration did not materialize as expected, leading to public criticism from a high-ranking executive.

Meghan's podcast, “Archetypes with Meghan,” garnered attention during its brief run, featuring conversations with notable figures such as Serena Williams.

Nevertheless, the negative remarks made by a top Spotify executive upon the deal's termination have cast doubt on any potential future collaborations with the streaming service for the couple.

Despite this, Harry and Meghan continue to reference their partnership with Spotify on their website.

The couple described their venture, Archival Audio, as an audio-first production company founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Through an exclusive partnership with Spotify, Archival Audio aimed to leverage the streaming platform's extensive global reach, catering to millions of premium subscribers and active users worldwide.

The podcasts and shows produced under this collaboration sought to foster community through shared experiences and diverse perspectives.

Meghan's podcast series, “Archetypes,” spanned 12 episodes and delved into the history of stereotypes against women, featuring discussions with celebrities like Paris Hilton and experts in the field.

Following the fallout with Spotify, Bill Simmons, Spotify's head of podcast innovation and monetization, publicly criticized the couple, referring to them as “effing grifters” in an episode of his podcast.

The decision to part ways with Spotify was reportedly mutual, as stated in a joint announcement by the Sussexes and Spotify.

While there is speculation surrounding a potential deal with Paramount Studios post their appearance in Jamaica, uncertainties loom over the renewal of their existing contract with Netflix next year.

Amid rumors of upcoming projects with Netflix, including a prequel to “Great Expectations” and an adaptation of the novel “Meet Me at the Lake,” Meghan's signing with talent agency WME in April last year has yet to yield any confirmed projects, raising doubts about the future collaborations for the couple.
