Meghan Markle’s Podcast “Archetypes” Finds Fresh Start with Lemonada

's renowned podcast, Archetypes, is making a comeback with a fresh appearance and a new platform.

Delve into the realm of Archetypes with Meghan, now accessible on all platforms for the first time through Lemonada.

The media company and podcast network, Lemonada, made the announcement via its official Twitter account on Tuesday.

As part of the revamp, Archetypes underwent a subtle rebranding during its stint on Spotify, where 12 episodes were aired in 2022, featuring a logo adorned with green lettering.

In this latest iteration, Meghan's art showcases a vibrant pink hue, with the Lemonada logo integrated into the new design.

Meghan unveiled her collaboration with Lemonada on February 13th, maintaining the podcast's original title, “Archetypes with Meghan.”

The podcast is described as a platform where the team delves into, dissects, and challenges the stereotypes that hinder women's progress.

It's quite amusing how the transition to Lemonada is portrayed as an upgrade from Spotify.

The initial 13 episodes of the podcast, spanning from August to November 2022, are now accessible for streaming across all platforms.

The inaugural season of Archetypes featured notable guests such as Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Paris Hilton, who collectively explored the pervasive stereotypes that impede women's advancement.

The shift to Lemonada is anticipated to propel the podcast's popularity, with the assumption that the sole barrier to its listenership was its previous exclusive availability on Spotify.

Meghan opted to license the streaming rights of Archetypes to other platforms, despite its initial exclusivity under the Spotify contract.

The Archetypes podcast, focusing on female stereotypes, only ran for a single series before Meghan and terminated their $20 million deal with Spotify three years after its inception.

Spotify expressed astonishment at Meghan's unauthorized sale of the podcast rights to competing platforms, hinting at potential legal repercussions due to the existing copyright agreement between the parties.

The reuse of the 13 Archetypes episodes serves as a validation of CEO Bill Simmons' critique of Meghan and Harry as lacking dedication, having failed to produce new content for Lemonada.

Unlike their previous setup with 28 producers, Lemonada lacks the resources to provide extensive support, requiring Meghan to secure her own sponsorships to sustain the podcast financially.

For a fee of £4.99, listeners can revisit Meghan's controversial tales from the initial podcast, including the fabricated account of a fire incident at the Governor's Mansion during their South Africa tour, where was falsely claimed to be in danger.

Meghan and 's production company, Archival Audio, parted ways with Spotify in June 2023, marking a significant shift in their podcasting endeavors.

As they navigate this new chapter with Lemonada, the future of Meghan's podcasting ventures remains uncertain, with potential delays in launching new content given the absence of extensive production support.
