Meghan Markle Fumes as Critics’ Choice Awards Snub Her, While Co-Star Abigail Takes Center Stage
The highly anticipated 29th annual Critics' Choice Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 14th at the Barga Hangar in Santa Monica.
This year, the ceremony will be hosted by the talented Chelsea Handler and will kick off at 4pm.
Viewers on the East Coast and in Los Angeles can catch the live broadcast on The CW.
Reports have surfaced indicating that Meghan Markle has been blacklisted from the awards, a surprising turn of events considering her co-star and former close friend, Abigail Spencer, has been given a prominent role.
The Critics' Choice Awards show, produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment, has made the decision to move the event from its previous location at the Los Angeles Fairmount Century Plaza to Santa Monica due to a labor dispute at the hotel.
The awards show, organized by the Critics' Choice Association, aims to honor the best in film and television from the past year.
Leading the pack with an impressive 18 nominations is the critically acclaimed movie “Barbie,” closely followed by “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things” with 13 nominations each.
Another highly anticipated film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” has garnered 12 nominations.
On the television front, “The Morning Show” leads the pack with six nominations, followed closely by “Succession” with five.
Other notable shows with multiple nominations include “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Beef,” “Lessons in Chemistry,” “Loki,” “Reservation Dogs,” and “A Small Light,” each receiving four nominations.
Apart from the exciting lineup of nominees, the Critics' Choice Awards will also feature a star-studded list of presenters.
Among them are Abigail Spencer, Angela Bassett, Anthony Ramos, Ashley Madaqui, Bella Ramsey, Brendan Fraser, Carla Guino, and Daniel Levy, to name a few.
In light of these developments, sources close to the situation have revealed Meghan Markle's frustration at her Suits co-stars' career advancements, while she feels left behind.
Abigail Spencer had the opportunity to present at the Critics' Choice Awards, while four other Suits actors were presenters at the Golden Globes.
Unfortunately, Meghan was not invited to either of these events.
Insiders suggest that this snub may be a consequence of Meghan's decision to leave her acting career behind and pursue a life of luxury within the Royal Family.
It seems that when you step away from your work, the results are not always in your favor.
Currently, WME, the talent agency representing Meghan Markle, has chosen to remain silent, echoing the motto of the British Royal Family.
Adding fuel to the fire, an ex-Great Britain advisor to the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, Lee Cohen, recently commented on the failures and setbacks experienced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Speaking on GB News with Mark Dolan, Cohen highlighted their initial failure to damage the monarchy and the Royal Family.
Since “Megxit,” the couple has given a tell-all interview to Oprah, which made headlines worldwide, and released a Netflix documentary detailing their struggles as working royals and their strained relationships with their family.
