Prince George’s Future School Revealed: A Break from Royal Tradition?

While most British families must choose between local state schools, and Princess Catherine of Wales have the luxury of selecting from a range of eye-wateringly expensive private schools.

In a surprising departure from royal protocol, it seems that they are leaning towards the costlier options.

However, the decision for Prince George's future school has reportedly been made, with Princess Catherine having the final say.

And it appears that they may be ready to snub the long-established Royal Education House of Eton in favor of Marlborough College in Wiltshire, the Princess's own private college.

Recent reports suggest that Princess Catherine toured Marlborough College, which costs £47,000 per year, for the second time on December 1st, accompanied by her husband William and their eldest son George.

This visit followed her initial tour in October.

During their visit, the royal trio also enjoyed a low-key lunch at Trey's Cafe at Bar's Yard in Hungerford.

It is believed that Catherine's dislike for single-s** schools, stemming from her negative experience at an all-girls boarding school in Berkshire, influenced the decision to choose Marlborough instead.

The Princess flourished academically and athletically at Marlborough, whereas she allegedly faced bullying at her previous school.

Now, she wants Prince George to have the same positive educational experience.

Additionally, by attending Marlborough, both George and his younger sister Charlotte will have a few years of overlapping at the same school.

As for their youngest sibling, , it remains unknown if he will follow in their footsteps and attend Marlborough College in the future.

Choosing Marlborough College would not be unprecedented for the royal family, as also attended the school.

Furthermore, the young royals would only be an hour's drive away from home once settled in Wiltshire.

Marlborough College provides education up until the age of 13, which means that Prince George will be leaving the school around 2026, conveniently close to his Middleton grandparents.

According to a royal source, Catherine has always been keen on providing her children with a more normal upbringing than what William experienced.

Marlborough College, a co-educational independent full-boarding school, aligns with this desire.

The school boasts impressive facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, an athletics track, and a purpose-built art school.

Catherine herself attended Marlborough College from 1996 to 2000, where she excelled in her studies, achieving A-levels in maths, art, and English.

She even captained the women's field hockey team, showcasing her sporting prowess.

Earlier this year, Prince George was spotted visiting Eton College in Berkshire, known for its prestigious reputation and high fees.

However, it seems that the young prince will be forging his own path by attending Marlborough instead.

In his memoir, “Spare,” revealed that he didn't quite fit in at Eton College.

He shared how he embraced sports as his way of standing out, stating, “‘Sport' would be my thing at Eton.”

The Duke of Sussex also explained the unique categorization of students at the school, with “dry bobs” participating in cricket, football, rugby, or polo, while “wet bobs” focused on rowing, sailing, or swimming.

, however, refused to be categorized and instead dabbled in all the activities available, humorously remarking, “‘I was a dry bob who occasionally got wet.'”

As the future king, Prince George's choice of school is significant.

By selecting Marlborough College, his parents are making a departure from the traditional path of attending Eton.
