Palace Outraged as Harry and Meghan Name Daughter Lilibet Without Approval

A new book, “Charles III, New King, New Court, The Inside Story,” written by Robert Hardman and serialised in the Daily Mail, has unveiled the late 's fury over and 's decision to publicly claim that the monarch had given her blessing to name their daughter .

According to a Palace Insider, was reportedly as angry as she had ever been upon hearing the Sussexes' comments.

In 2021, the Sussexes announced that they had named their second child , after the late monarch's childhood nickname.

This endearing name had been used since Queen Elizabeth's early years when she was a toddler and couldn't pronounce her own name.

However, the couple's assertion that the Queen had supported their choice left her furious, as per the Palace Insider.

Contrary to Harry and Meghan's claims, the BBC reported at the time that the Queen had not been asked for her blessing to use the name.

Other reports suggest that while the Queen was indeed contacted by her grandson, she was not in a position to refuse.

Nevertheless, the Duke and Duchess's spokesperson dismissed these claims, affirming that they would not have chosen the name if the monarch had not been supportive.

The spokesperson stated that the Duke had spoken with his family before making the announcement, with his grandmother being the first family member he called.

They shared their intention to honor her by naming their daughter Lilibet, and they would not have proceeded if she had not been supportive.

Amidst the controversy, the Duke and Duchess's law firm, Shillings, sent a letter to certain news broadcasters and publishers, refuting the claims that the Queen had not been consulted and deeming them defamatory.

Hardman commented on the situation, recalling that Queen Elizabeth II had been extremely angry when the Sussexes announced that she had given her blessing to name their baby daughter Lilibet, using the Queen's childhood nickname.

He added that the couple had threatened legal action against anyone who suggested otherwise, including the BBC.

However, when the Sussexes attempted to involve the palace in supporting their version of events, they were denied.

It became another case of differing recollections.

The late Queen saw through 's intentions.

Meghan and Harry's presumptuousness was evident from the start.

They wanted to distance themselves from the royal family, yet they also sought inclusion.

Naming their grandchild after Queen Elizabeth would have been a touching and honorable gesture for anyone.

However, the Queen knew Meghan's motives.

It was clear that Meghan intended to use the name for financial gain.

While the name Lilibet had been frequently used as a middle name for the Queen's grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Meghan wanted it as a first name.

It was Meghan's idea, and Harry, who should have known better, went along with it, being the obedient and supportive husband that he is.

The Queen dedicated her entire life to serving others, and her nickname was one of the few things that belonged solely to her in private.

It was also a connection to her beloved family, including her late sister and her parents, who affectionately called her Lilibet.

Taking that away from her is undeniably cruel.

The Queen understood that it was not a genuine tribute; it was merely a publicity stunt for Meghan's personal branding and merchandise.

In conclusion, the Palace was outraged by Harry and Meghan's decision to name their daughter Lilibet without seeking approval.

The late Queen Elizabeth's anger was palpable, as she had not given her blessing as claimed by the Sussexes.

Despite their assertions, it was clear that the Queen's support was not sought beforehand.
