Suits Stars Reunite at Golden Globes After Record-Breaking Rediscovery
The highly acclaimed TV series, Suits, made a remarkable comeback on Netflix on June 17, and fans couldn't contain their excitement.
The lead stars of the show, Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Gina Torres, recently reunited at the prestigious Golden Globes.
This reunion came shortly after the series broke the streaming record for acquired programming, with an astonishing 3.1 billion viewing minutes during the week of June 26 to July 2.
Suits originally premiered on USA in 2011.
On January 7, Patrick, Gabriel, Sarah, and Gina took the stage as presenters, rather than co-stars, at the Golden Globes.
They were there to announce the winner for Outstanding Drama Series, which turned out to be HBO's hit show, Succession.
While on stage, the stars lightened the mood with some jokes about the category being announced late in the program.
Gabriel amusingly mentioned the anxiety-inducing wait, stating, “There's nothing more dramatic or anxiety-inducing than waiting all night to hear that your category has finally arrived.”
Patrick chimed in, adding, “That's true, it's hard to imagine having to wait so long to see your show get that kind of recognition.”
Before their on-stage reunion, Patrick and Gabriel, who portrayed Michael Ross and Harvey Specter in the series, were asked about Meghan Markle on the red carpet.
Patrick playfully encouraged the idea of a spinoff, focusing on his character's relationship with Meghan's character, Rachel Zane, and their life in Seattle.
However, he admitted that he had no knowledge of where the next iteration of Suits would pick up story-wise.
Gabriel jokingly referred to it as a separate world within the Suits universe, suggesting that maybe his character would show up in Los Angeles one day.
As for Meghan Markle's potential involvement in future Suits projects, Patrick teased the idea of Mike and Rachel coming to Los Angeles to fix some things.
When directly asked about Meghan, he replied, “Did you hear about Meghan?
Uh, I'll tell you later.
There's been a lot of stuff going on.”
Unfortunately, Meghan was not present during the mini-reunion of the Suits cast on stage at the Golden Globes, where they presented an award.
Elle magazine speculated that her absence was due to the need for heightened security and the fact that she wasn't nominated for an award.
In November, Meghan did make an appearance at Variety's Power of Women event, where she spoke about the renewed success of Suits.
She expressed her surprise at the series' newfound popularity and mentioned that it was challenging to find a show with so many binge-watchable episodes these days.
Meghan fondly reminisced about her time on the show, emphasizing the great cast and crew she had the pleasure of working with.
While Meghan hasn't announced any new projects yet, a source revealed to Us Weekly that she has plans in the works.
Despite the perception that Harry and Meghan have been snubbed by the entertainment industry, they are reportedly focused on choosing quality over quantity and carefully selecting the opportunities that come their way.
In conclusion, the Suits stars' reunion at the Golden Globes showcased their enduring bond and the immense impact the series continues to have on viewers worldwide.
