Meghan Brutally Mocked on Australian Comedy Show: A Closer Look
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, found herself at the receiving end of brutal mockery on the popular Australian comedy program, Have You Been Paying Attention?
In an old clip that has resurfaced and gone viral, comedians Sam Peng and Tim McDonald mercilessly mocked Meghan after quizmaster Tom Gleisner asked the panel to name the first TV show she appeared on following her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The comedic banter began when Tim buzzed in and jokingly suggested “Better Homewreckers and Gardens,” a playful reference to the popular Australian show Better Homes and Gardens.
Sam followed suit, ringing his buzzer and humorously suggesting “Family Feud.”
The comedians erupted in laughter before Tom clarified that Meghan had actually appeared on a fundraiser program called Vax Live.
This incident comes on the heels of Nine's Today show host Karl Stefanovic's unsympathetic verdict on Prince Harry's recent interview with the Armchair Expert podcast.
In the interview, Prince Harry accused his father, Prince Charles, of subjecting him to genetic pain.
Additionally, the show aired a gallery of photos from Harry's partying days in his 20s, highlighting the contrast between him and his more reserved older brother, Prince William.
In another episode of Have You Been Paying Attention?, comedians Luke McGregor and Ed Cavalli joined in on the mockery of Meghan and Harry.
This time, the focus was on the couple's inclusion in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people.
When asked about the magazine cover, Luke humorously replied, “PC Gaming,” eliciting laughter from the audience.
Ed chimed in with a clever play on words, saying “Better Homes and Gold Diggers,” referencing the popular magazine Better Homes and Gardens.
While the show's humor may be seen as lighthearted entertainment, it is evident that Meghan and Harry have been subject to snarky comments from both Australians and Britons for quite some time.
This year, the United States joined in on the trolling, with notable figures like Chris Rock and South Park taking jabs at the couple.
In other news, as the Christmas season approaches, King Charles is reportedly growing increasingly anxious about the next move of his estranged son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle.
The monarch is said to be deeply nervous about engaging in conversations with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, given the hostility they have faced within the royal family.
Insiders claim that King Charles is particularly concerned about the possibility of the Sussexes leaking their private conversations, which could create further difficulties.
Vanity Fair reports that the Sussexes, who have not spent Christmas with the royals since 2018, were keen on flying to the UK for the holidays this year, as their children have never experienced the festive period with their grandfather Charles.
However, it seems their plans have been thwarted.
Last year, the couple attempted to disrupt the royal Christmas by releasing their Netflix series in December.
However, instead of ruining the holiday for the royal family, it only served to increase their popularity.
The infamous curtsy mocking incident by Meghan and the humorous references in Harry's book are what people remember most from those endeavors.
As the world continues to keep a close eye on Meghan and Harry, their every move and public appearance will undoubtedly garner attention, whether it be through comedy shows or the ongoing royal drama.
