Real Housewives Casts Reject Meghan Markle’s Bid to Join Beverly Hills Show
The Real Housewives franchise has always been a hot topic of discussion among fans, with speculation constantly swirling about who the next great addition might be.
However, it seems that Meghan Markle's dreams of joining the Bravo universe have been dashed.
Rumors had been circulating that Markle, along with Prince Harry, might make an appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills following their departure from royal duties and relocation to Montecito, California.
Given the show's location and the tax bracket in which the women operate, it would have made perfect sense.
Fans even went so far as to petition for Kris Jenner, a frequent name in Beverly Hills conversations, to join the series.
With big names like Denise Richards and Jenna Leons recently joining the Beverly Hills and New York franchises, respectively, anything seemed possible.
In the finale of the Archetypes podcast, Markle herself expressed her desire to appear on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live show, having been a fan of the Real Housewives herself.
“I was so eager to be on your show because I was such a Housewives fan, and I just couldn't get booked, Andy,” she said, expressing her gratitude for his presence on the podcast.
However, despite her interest in a show similar to Real Housewives, it appears that the long-standing members of the show are not sympathetic to the Duchess.
The recent car chase involving Meghan and Harry has caused some Hollywood celebrities to speak out against the couple's alleged false statements about the security situation in New York.
One such celebrity is Bethany Frankel, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City.
In an Instagram video, Frankel criticized the couple for attempting to drive to a friend's private address on the Upper East Side after attending the Women of Vision Awards.
She suggested that if they wanted to keep their location private, they should have stayed at a hotel.
Frankel also questioned why other mega stars like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, JLo, Justin Bieber, or Harry Styles hadn't experienced similar incidents with the paparazzi, asking, “What's going on?
Mr. Magoo and Elmo?
Their publicist maybe?
Someone control this beast.”
She also accused the couple of alienating their fanbase by reportedly asking a photo agency to turn over the footage of the chase.
Frankel concluded her video by urging Meghan to consider joining the Real Housewives franchise, suggesting that she should embrace being a housewife and become infamous, as her life since leaving the royal family in 2020 hasn't been going well.
This isn't the first time Frankel has criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In January, she called Prince Harry “crazy” for revealing details about his royal rift in his upcoming memoir.
The previous month, she described their Netflix docuseries as boring and a money grab.
Tuesday's car chase, which involved multiple near collisions, is just the latest headline-making moment for Meghan and Harry that Frankel has criticized over the years.
Despite the criticism, the couple continues to navigate their new lives outside the royal family, swimming in uncertain waters.
As fans and critics alike watch their every move, it remains to be seen what their next chapter will bring.
