Deluded Harry and Meghan’s Insensitive Request to Fly Home with Biden Raises Eyebrows
A royal expert has raised concerns over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent request to fly home from the late Queen's funeral alongside President Joe Biden on Air Force One.
Former BBC Royal correspondent Jenny Bond has accused the couple of being oblivious to the insensitivity surrounding their attempt to join the President of the United States on his return journey.
While US officials declined their request, the mere fact that they made such a demand has caused quite a stir.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been residing in the United States since 2020, following their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.
According to reports, the couple had allegedly requested to return to the US after attending the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, along with President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
However, their request was denied due to concerns about potential strain on relations with the royal family.
Jenny Bond, speaking to OK!
magazine, expressed her belief that the couple's failure to deny the request indicates its validity.
She further suggested that this incident highlights two things: first, the couple's grandiose and misguided perception of their position on the world stage, and second, their insensitivity towards the situation they created by stepping back from their royal duties and subsequently making allegations against the royal family from their California sanctuary.
Their request effectively put the President in an awkward position, as it required him to take sides in the ongoing family dispute.
It is worth noting that Harry and Meghan were initially in the UK last September for various work commitments.
However, they extended their stay following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The couple attended the late monarch's funeral on September 19, 2022, without their two children.
Shortly after the funeral, they flew back to the US, presumably to reunite with their son Archie and daughter Lilibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines in January 2020 when they announced their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.
They subsequently relocated to California, where they currently reside.
Lilibet, who is now two years old, was born shortly after their move to the United States.
The insensitivity displayed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle through their request to fly home with President Biden has raised eyebrows and sparked debate.
Their misguided perception of their place on the world stage, coupled with their lack of sensitivity towards the situation they created, has drawn criticism from experts and the public alike.
As the couple continues to navigate their new roles outside the royal family, their actions will undoubtedly be closely scrutinized.
