Kensington Palace Unveils Adorable Childhood Photo of Princess Kate Celebrating Christmas
Kensington Palace has delighted royal fans by sharing a never-before-seen photo of the Princess of Wales, Kate, as a child enjoying the festive season at home.
The precious image captures a young Kate seated at a dining table, adorned with festive tinsel, in a wooden chair.
She looks absolutely adorable in a red and blue striped dress with ruby red buttons and a crisp white collar.
Completing her outfit is a navy cardigan and a technicolour necklace made up of yellow, white, blue, and green beads.
In this sweet throwback snap, Kate bears a striking resemblance to her youngest son, Prince Louis, as she appears to be relishing a bowl of Christmas food.
The Prince and Princess of Wales also shared the photo on their official Instagram account, captioning it with the words, “Showing some festive memories this Christmas because hashtag shaping us is all about the vital importance of our early years and the role played by those around us in shaping the rest of our lives.”
Royal fans flooded the comments section with their thoughts, expressing their delight.
One fan wrote, “My god, what a gorgeous photo of baby Catherine!
Louis is her twin.
What a lovely surprise, thank you for sharing.”
Another chimed in, “Adorable!
Louis looks a lot like her.”
A third comment read, “Prince Louis looks like his mum,” while a fourth sweetly added, “Not me having the same placemats growing up.”
This new photo of Princess Catherine has overshadowed Meghan's recent controversy, where rumors spread that Kate and William had hired a child to pose as Louis after accusing the Sussexes of photoshopping their Christmas card.
Is there really a borrowed child who looks exactly like his mother?
Meghan Markle herself became the subject of a roast on Saturday Night Live, where a skit targeted Prince William and Princess Kate's Christmas card.
The Welsers had released their adorable card, featuring William, Kate, and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all beaming in matching outfits.
SNL cast member Colin Jost pointed out a peculiar detail in the card, turning it into a joke about the Markles.
He remarked, “A Christmas photo released by the royal family features a bad photoshop job where Prince Louis's finger appears to be missing.
And this is sweet, Meghan Markle said she has a finger they can use if they need it.”
A pixelated photo of Meghan seemingly making an offensive gesture was then displayed alongside the Welsers' Christmas card.
However, as we analyzed in a previous video, Prince Louis's finger was not missing; he simply extended his fingers.
This isn't the first time Meghan Markle has been the target of jokes.
Back in March, SNL humorously addressed the speculation surrounding Meghan and Prince Harry attending King Charles' coronation.
Comedian Michael Chey took aim at the Duchess of Sussex, making a crass joke about her attendance.
He mentioned that Meghan had been offered £15 an hour to attend the coronation, accompanied by a mock image of her dressed in a maid's outfit.
Michael humorously stated, “It was reported that the organizers of King Charles' coronation have officially invited Meghan Markle.
And this is nice, at a starting salary of £15 an hour.”
