Tyler Perry Revealed as Princess Lilibert’s Godfather in Intimate Christening Ceremony

Princess Lilibert, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has been christened in a private ceremony held at her home in Montecito, California.

The one-year-old's godfather has been unveiled as American billionaire Tyler Perry, who flew to California to attend the intimate event last Friday.

While many speculated that Oprah Winfrey, a close friend of the Sussexes, would be the mystery godmother, it seems that Perry has taken on this role instead.

Unlike her older brother Archie, whose christening took place in the grandeur of Windsor Castle, Lilibert's ceremony was attended by approximately 20-30 rumored guests.

Surprisingly, no members of the royal family were present, although Prince Charles had been informed about Harry and Meghan's decision to bestow royal titles upon their children.

Oprah Winfrey, who attended Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018 and conducted their highly-publicized interview three years later, was initially considered a strong contender for the role of godmother.

In the couple's Netflix docuseries, they revealed that Oprah was one of the few people who visited them at Frogmore Cottage.

Harry mentioned that Oprah was amazed by their living conditions and expressed disbelief that others would ever believe it.

As a neighbor and friend, Oprah seemed like an ideal choice for godmother, especially considering her admiration for Lilibert's name.

However, when asked about the speculation surrounding her potential role as godmother, Oprah dismissed the idea, stating that she didn't feel the need to take on that responsibility.

She referred to herself as a “godmother by default,” emphasizing her role as a supportive neighbor and friend.

Despite Oprah's explanation, Harry and Meghan are unlikely to consider it a valid reason for her exclusion.

Nonetheless, Oprah's youthful energy and friendship with the couple would have made her an excellent choice.

Considering the godparents chosen for Archie, who were all related to Harry, it is highly probable that Lilibert's godparents will be friends of Meghan.

While no official announcement has been made, reports suggest that Alexandra Pettifer, Harry and William's childhood nanny known as Tiggy-Legg Bork, may have been chosen.

Additionally, Harry's close friend Charlie Van Strubenese and Mark Dahlia, a trusted royal aide, are believed to be among the other godparents.

Dahlia is considered a second father figure to the prince.

If Meghan's friends were to be considered, tennis champion Serena Williams, who attended the couple's wedding in 2018, could potentially be a godparent.

Other possibilities include Meghan's longtime friend Jessica Mulroney, renowned human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

If a member of the royal family were to be chosen, Princess Eugenie or Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, might be likely candidates.

Princess Eugenie was the first royal visitor to see the Sussexes after their move to California and has spent time with Lilibert.

Although Fergie recently claimed not to know Meghan well, she shares a strong bond with her nephew Harry and famously taught Meghan how to curtsy.
