Archwell Faces IRS Investigation for Potential Money Laundering Activities
The Archwell Foundation, the charitable organization founded by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, is now under scrutiny by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) following the discovery of potential money laundering activities.
This revelation came to light through the examination of the foundation's 990 tax form.
As a result, Meghan Markle has expressed outrage over the investigation.
The latest tax documents have raised concerns about Archwell's financial dealings and grant-related matters.
The IRS has launched an inquiry into the organization due to these questionable activities.
This development has placed the reality of Meghan and Harry's charity under the microscope.
According to a tax filing disclosed on December 12th, it was revealed that the Archwell Foundation experienced a significant decline in contributions in 2022 compared to its first year in operation in 2021.
In 2021, Archwell received $13 million in donations, but in 2022, that figure dropped to just over $2 million.
Furthermore, nearly 100% of the donations in 2022 came from two unnamed donors.
Despite this decline, Archwell still possesses assets worth $8.3 million.
This indicates that the organization continues to hold a substantial amount of funds.
In 2020, Archwell reported receiving only $50,000 in donations, while their expenses exceeded this amount, with over $55,000 spent on legal fees.
These fees were associated with the establishment and dissolution of their previous charities, Sussex Royal and MWX Foundation.
It is worth noting that the MWX Foundation had to be renamed after being prohibited from using the royal name by the Queen.
The tax documents also revealed that Archwell received a significant anonymous donation of $10 million out of the $13 million raised in 2020.
The identity and motives of this generous benefactor remain unknown, leading to speculation that it could be a wealthy friend or business partner of the couple.
Critics have raised concerns about the couple's use of Archwell, suggesting that it may be a front for money laundering and tax evasion.
Additionally, some believe that the organization serves as a platform for promoting their political agenda and personal branding.
Questions have also been raised about the decision to incorporate Archwell in Delaware, a state known for its business-friendly laws and low taxes, which often attract businesses seeking to hide their financial activities and avoid scrutiny from authorities.
In an attempt to divert attention from the damning Foundation report and overshadow their royal rivals Prince William and Princess Kate, Harry and Meghan released a glitzy video showcasing their interactions with military veterans, Nigerian school girls, and appearances at various charitable functions.
This promotional video was released earlier than usual, causing speculation about the couple's intentions.
As reported by the National Enquirer, Harry and Meghan are striving to maintain their relevance in Hollywood's circles as their influence diminishes.
They were even excluded from the invitation lists for George and Amal Clooney's star-studded Albie Awards gala last September.
