Royal Children Will Not Receive Full Titles, Reports Say

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two children, three-year-old Archie and one-year-old Lilibet, will not be granted the title of “His or Her Royal Highness,” according to The Sun.

However, they will still be referred to as Prince and Princess.

This change in royal titles comes as a result of the shift in line of succession following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

With William now being the heir to the throne, he has taken on the title of Prince of Wales, while Kate Middleton has become the Princess of Wales.

Their oldest son, George, is second in line to the throne, followed by Charlotte and Louis.

Prince Harry, along with his two children, holds the fifth, sixth, and seventh positions in the line of succession.

Despite these changes, Harry and Meghan's titles remain unchanged as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prior to the Queen's demise, rumors circulated that King Charles III intended to streamline the monarchy, potentially reducing the number of senior royal members to only seven.

However, it is now speculated that the King will revise the letters patent established by King George V in 1917, thereby removing the HRH titles from Archie and Lilibet.

According to The Sun, King Charles III plans to issue new letters patent granting the Prince and Princess titles to his grandchildren.

However, they will not be entitled to the His and Her Royal Highness titles, just like their parents who voluntarily relinquished their titles when they stepped away from the monarchy two and a half years ago.

Unnamed sources close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have expressed their discontent with this decision.

The source stated, “They have been relentless since the Queen died.

But they have been left furious that Archie and Lilibet cannot take the title HRH.

That is the agreement.

They can be Prince and Princess but not HRH because they are not working royals.”

King Charles III has not yet addressed this matter publicly, as he has been preoccupied with the 10-day period of mourning for his mother.

During the procession through London streets, which marked Queen Elizabeth's final journey from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, many mourners were moved to tears as King Charles, his siblings, and his sons walked closely behind her coffin.
