It is believed that Perry agreed to perform at a concert the night after the coronation service at Westminster Abbey in order to showcase her role as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust, a position bestowed upon her by King Charles in 2020.

Joining a star-studded lineup that includes Take That, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Rydings, and Alexis F. French, Katy Perry's connection with the King goes back to their first meeting in Mumbai in 2019 when he was still the Prince of Wales.

This encounter was undoubtedly memorable for both, as it marked the first and possibly the last time the King ever requested a selfie.

The details of this amusing incident were shared by the King's former aide, Scott Forreston Wood.
