Meghan Markle’s Mother Gives a Special Gift to the Duchess After Lilibet’s Birth

Meghan Markle has been showered with gifts following the birth of her daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

According to a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan's mother has been staying with them in Montecito, California, to assist with parenting duties.

The source revealed that they have received numerous lovely gifts from friends and family, including Doria.

However, the most special thing she has given is her time.

Doria has been actively helping out at their home, and her hands-on support has been invaluable.

Meghan is incredibly grateful to have her mother by her side, and Harry adores her as well.

While Prince William and Kate have also sent gifts to the Sussexes, the specific items remain unknown.

In their statement on the Archewell website, Prince Harry and Meghan encouraged people to support charities instead of sending gifts.

They emphasized their commitment to parental leave, with the couple reportedly taking 20 weeks off after the birth of Lilibet.

This departure from royal tradition, where fathers typically return to duties quickly, allows the Sussexes to focus on their growing family.

Meghan Markle's biographer and royal editor, Omid Scobie, tweeted that the couple is likely to take the full 20 weeks of leave, as allowed by their company, Archewell.

This decision contrasts with Prince Harry's previous engagements shortly after Archie's birth and Prince William's brief breaks following the births of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

While Kate took a total of seven months off for her three children, Prince Harry's leave may be interrupted by certain duties in the future, such as the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue at Kensington Palace on July 1.
