Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Return to the UK Amidst Royal Family Tensions
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made their way back to the United Kingdom for a whirlwind tour following their explosive interview that heightened tensions between the couple and the royal family.
Despite currently residing in the U.S., the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had previously confirmed their plans to visit the UK this month, expressing their desire to support charities close to their hearts.
According to reports from Hello!, the couple was spotted driving earlier today, with Prince Harry behind the wheel.
The duration of their visit remains unknown.
During their time in the UK, Harry and Meghan will attend events in both London and Manchester.
Additionally, they will travel to Germany to commemorate the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games.
Contrary to expectations, there are no scheduled meetings between the Sussexes and Prince William and Kate Middleton, despite their proximity.
Although it was anticipated that Harry and Meghan would arrive as early as today and utilize Frogmore Cottage, their Windsor home, as a base, no official confirmation regarding their arrival date and time has been provided.
It is also unclear whether they will visit Queen Elizabeth II at Balmoral, but it is unlikely that they will bring their children, Archie and Lily, on this working trip.
Following the strained relationships between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family, it is reported that there are concerns about the couple potentially bringing a film crew along as part of their rumored $100 million Netflix deal.
Trust is currently a significant issue, according to well-placed sources.
Another insider stated, “I really can't see any progress in repairing their relationship until the documentary and book have come out and they see what he has to say.
The family have everything to lose and nothing to gain.
William is deeply hurt and believes his brother has crossed a line.”
On Monday, Harry and Meghan will head to Manchester for the One Young World Summit, an event that gathers young leaders from over 190 countries.
Meghan, who serves as a counselor for the organization, will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.
In addition, the couple will meet with a group of summit delegates who have made remarkable contributions to gender equality, as stated by One Young World.
The following day, the pair will travel to Dusseldorf to attend the One Year to Go event for the Invictus Games 2023, before returning to the UK for the Wellchild Awards in London.
During the awards ceremony, Harry will give a speech.
Wednesday currently holds no public plans for the couple, leaving open the possibility of a potential meeting with Prince William, Kate Middleton, or other family members.
However, it is unlikely that the couple will have the opportunity to meet with Queen Elizabeth II.
The 96-year-old monarch, who has been dealing with ongoing mobility issues, traditionally holds audiences with outgoing and incoming prime ministers at Buckingham Palace.
