Meghan Markle Signs Deal with WME as She Ventures into New Professional Chapter
Meghan Markle, the former Duchess of Sussex, continues to make strides in her professional career after stepping back from the royal spotlight.
In a recent report by Variety, it was revealed that Meghan has signed a deal with WME (William Morris Endeavor) for representation.
This move comes as Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, aim to establish their company, Archworld Productions, which focuses on producing informative, uplifting, and inspiring content.
WME will take over the representation of Archworld Productions, which was founded by Meghan and Harry in 2020.
The couple has already collaborated with Netflix on various projects, including their highly anticipated docu-series, “Harry and Meghan,” set to release in 2022.
With this new partnership, Meghan's involvement in film and television production will expand even further.
However, not everyone seems convinced of Meghan's potential success in the entertainment industry.
Former Dynasty star, Joan Collins, shared her candid thoughts on Meghan's pursuit of a blockbuster film deal.
When asked about the rumors surrounding WME and Meghan, Collins visibly laughed before expressing her doubts.
She stated, “You've got to be joking.
I'm not sure the rumors about WME and Meghan are accurate.
If they really do, this will be the biggest loss in their history.”
Collins went on to highlight Meghan's previous struggles in her acting career, emphasizing that she had faced challenges before landing her breakout role in the TV series Suits.
“For almost a decade, Meghan auditioned for parts in movies, ads, and game shows,” Collins added.
Despite these remarks, it is worth noting that Collins herself has had a successful career in the entertainment industry, having worked since the age of 9 and gaining recognition for her role as Alexis Carrington in the 1980s soap opera Dynasty.
Following the release of the YouTube video featuring Collins' comments, social media erupted with various reactions.
Some praised Collins for her honesty, with one user stating, “You've got to love Joan.”
Others took the opportunity to criticize Meghan, with one comment suggesting that Hollywood sees her as a joke.
Another user exclaimed, “Meghan is the laughing stock of Hollywood now.”
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that Meghan is eager to secure a role in a superhero film, and her agent, Nick Collins, is actively seeking opportunities for her.
Sources suggest that Meghan wants her return to acting to be part of an ensemble cast in a superhero movie, either as a voice-over or on-screen.
This news comes after Meghan's successful collaboration with Disney, where she provided a voice-over for a documentary.
Prince Harry had previously hinted at Meghan's interest in voice-over work during the London premiere of The Lion King in 2019.
In a filmed conversation with Disney CEO Bob Iger, Harry mentioned Meghan's talent for voice-overs, which caught Iger by surprise.
The exchange ended with Iger expressing interest in working with Meghan, saying, “That's a great idea.
We'd love to try.”
Since relocating to California in 2020, Meghan and Harry have been focused on building their new life away from royal duties.
They are currently raising their two children, Archie and Lilibet, in the United States.
Meghan's return to the entertainment industry, coupled with her partnership with WME, marks an exciting new chapter for the former royal couple as they continue to pursue their passions and make a positive impact through their production company.
