Faces Criticism Over £112 Million Netflix Deal

has found himself at the center of controversy after a guest on This Morning accused him of exploiting the royal family with his lucrative deal with Netflix.

Julia Hartley-Brewer, a talk radio presenter, voiced her dissatisfaction with the Duke of Sussex's multi-million pound agreement, deeming it “tacky.”

Netflix, known for its hit series The Crown, which has faced criticism for its portrayal of key moments in royal history, had hoped to maintain its credibility by signing Prince Harry and to a mega deal worth tens of millions of dollars.

However, this cover was shattered when a shocking fallout between Khan and the Crown unfolded, leading to calls for Prince Harry to sever ties with the streaming platform.

Jemima Khan, a close friend of , revealed that she left the show due to concerns about the portrayal of Diana's final days.

Khan emphasized the importance of accurately and compassionately depicting her friend's life, a sentiment that she felt was not being upheld by the show's creator, Peter Morgan, who is also her ex-lover.

Debating the matter on This Morning, Julia argued that Prince Harry should abandon his Netflix deal because he had used his royal title and connection to secure it.

She criticized his willingness to exploit his royal name and his mother's legacy, pointing out that he often discusses his cherished childhood memories in interviews.

While Philip Schofield, one of the hosts, acknowledged that Prince Harry was contractually bound to Netflix, Julia maintained that he should drop the deal, asserting that his royal privilege was the sole reason for his financial success.

Matthew Wright, another journalist on the show, disagreed, suggesting that Prince Harry should be given a chance before judgment is passed.

He reminded the panel that they had not yet seen the content produced under the deal and argued that Prince Harry had the right to make a living.

However, Julia remained steadfast in her criticism of the prince, unaffected by Matthew's perspective.

This debate takes place against the backdrop of royal experts urging Prince Harry to reconsider his partnership with Netflix after Jemima Khan's departure from The Crown.

Angela Levin, a royal biographer, called on Prince Harry to find his voice and take a stand against the alleged portrayal of his mother.

She questioned whether money or defending his mother was more important to him, expressing astonishment at his silence on the matter.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming season of The Crown, set to premiere on Netflix in November 2023, Prince Harry finds himself caught between financial gain and defending his mother's legacy.

The public awaits his response to the mounting criticism surrounding his Netflix deal, eager to see if he will prioritize money or his mother's memory.
