Queen Elizabeth’s Battle with Cancer Revealed in New Book
Queen Elizabeth, the beloved monarch of the United Kingdom, was reportedly battling cancer during the final months of her life, according to author Giles Brandreth.
In his new book, “Elizabeth, An Intimate Portrait,” Brandreth reveals that he had heard rumors of the queen's struggle with myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer.
These rumors could explain her fatigue, weight loss, and mobility issues in the last year of her life.
Myeloma is known for causing bone pain, particularly in the pelvis and lower back, and it commonly affects the elderly.
While there is currently no cure for the disease, treatments such as immune system regulation and bone-strengthening drugs can alleviate symptoms and extend a patient's survival.
Despite her health challenges, Queen Elizabeth's death certificate listed “old age” as the cause of her passing.
As her final days approached, the queen shared a Sunday lunch with Reverend Daryan Greenshields, vicar of the Braemar and Crathie Parish Church.
They discussed various topics, including the queen's childhood, her love for horses, church matters, and her sadness regarding the situation in Ukraine.
Additionally, she had conversations with Clive Cox, a renowned racehorse trainer, and met both outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson and her successor, Liz Truss.
On this significant day, a poignant photograph capturing the queen's essence was taken.
Brandreth also challenges the widely reported claim that Queen Elizabeth was present at Prince Philip's bedside when he passed away in April 2021.
According to his account, the prince had gone to the bathroom with the assistance of a nurse.
Feeling faint upon his return, he requested help getting back into bed.
The nurse immediately called for assistance from the Duke's Valley and the queen's page, Paul Wibrew.
Tragically, Prince Philip passed away before the queen could be summoned.
Brandreth further reveals that the couple spent weeks apart later in life, with the queen respecting Philip's desire for independence.
However, the pandemic brought them back together, and they both cherished the opportunity to live in close proximity once again.
In another extract from Brandreth's book, he highlights the queen's positive sentiments towards Meghan Markle, stating that she made efforts to welcome her into the royal family.
While the queen was devoted to Prince Harry, she believed that he may have been overly infatuated with Meghan.
In fact, the queen reportedly told Meghan that she could continue pursuing her acting career if she wished, as it was her profession.
Regarding the bombshell revelations made by Harry and Meghan during their interview with Oprah Winfrey, the queen's primary concern was her grandson's well-being rather than what she allegedly referred to as “television nonsense.”
Furthermore, when Prince Andrew expressed his dissatisfaction with the Oprah interview, the queen reminded him of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson's own interview with the talk show host.
Despite the controversies surrounding Harry and Meghan, the queen had a positive reaction to the couple's decision to name their daughter Lilibet, which was the queen's childhood nickname.
While some family members found it perplexing, the queen believed it was a lovely choice.
Interestingly, courtiers referred to Harry and Meghan as “persons who live overseas,” highlighting their new life in America.
In other royal news, Prince William and Kate Middleton are embarking on a three-day trip to North America, seemingly undeterred by the upcoming appearance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at a prestigious New York awards ceremony.
A royal source shared that the palace team is aware of Harry and Meghan's activities but remains unafraid.
As the future king, William is focused on his own path, while Harry and Meghan pursue their endeavors, including Meghan's podcast.
The palace will not be intimidated by their actions.
