Harry arrived in Aberdeen on a separate flight just five minutes after the announcement of Queen Elizabeth II's passing at 6:30 pm on September 8.
However, a second source, familiar with the events of the day, told The Telegraph that it was all a mistake.
According to this source, the situation was not about causing offense but simply adhering to protocol, which the Sussexes were always going to respect.
It was initially understood that Harry and Meghan would travel together, as they would have done if they had flown from their home in the US to the UK in the event of the Queen's passing.
