It seems that Prince Charles, the future King, has been compelled to take action regarding the royal positions of Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

He has requested an urgent change to the Regency Act, which governs the appointment of councillors of state.

Currently, there are five councillors of state, but two of them, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, are not actively involved in royal affairs and are no longer working members of the royal family.

This prompted King Charles to communicate urgently with Parliament, as he wished to appoint his sister and brother to these positions.

The imminent trip of the Prince and Princess of Wales to America played a significant role in Charles' decision.

As Prince William would not be available to serve as King in case of Charles' absence due to the overseas trip, the King wrote a letter to Parliament on his birthday.

He requested that the necessary legislation be brought forward as soon as possible to accommodate this legal change.
