Kate Middleton Takes Over Crucial Role from Camilla, Fueling Jealousy in Meghan
In a surprising turn of events, Kate Middleton is set to assume a crucial role that Meghan Markle has long yearned for.
According to an expert, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, could be added to the Councillors of State early, paving the way for Kate to do the same.
This move is part of the Queen's efforts to streamline the monarchy.
The 74-year-old Camilla, whose husband has reportedly extended an olive branch to Prince Harry, might be added earlier as the spouse of the heir apparent, rather than removing non-working royals from the equation.
Gertrude Daly, host of Gert's Royal Podcast, suggests that this development could also mean an earlier inclusion of Kate Middleton.
By law, the Councillors of State include the Sovereign's spouse and the next four individuals in the line of succession who are over the age of 21.
Currently, Prince Harry, Prince William, Prince Charles, and Prince Andrew fulfill these roles.
However, according to royal expert Gertrude, it may be easier to add the heir apparent's spouse to the Councillors of State instead of removing Prince Andrew and Prince Harry.
Since Duchess Camilla is already slated to be added during Prince Charles's reign, it would make sense to include her now.
This would also set a precedent for adding Duchess Kate during Prince Charles's reign as well.
The Councillors of State, appointed by letter patent, act on behalf of the Queen when she is temporarily unable to fulfill official duties due to illness or absence abroad.
However, the Queen retains final authority over Commonwealth matters, dissolving Parliament, creating peers, and appointing a Prime Minister.
Recent reports suggest that Buckingham Palace is attempting to remove Prince Harry from his role as Councillor of State.
The Duke of Sussex is currently embroiled in a dispute over the security he receives during visits to the UK.
He has even threatened to sue the British government if he is denied Royal protection.
It is worth noting that Harry waived his rights to police protection when he and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the Royal family in 2020.
Buckingham Palace officials are now exploring ways to remove him from this position.
The Palace is also considering revoking the role from Prince Andrew, which could potentially jeopardize the monarchy.
In a separate development, Kate Middleton made a powerful statement with her fashion choice during her first public appearance of the year.
Alongside Prince William, the Duchess visited the Foundling Museum in London.
Notably, her entire outfit, including a pair of earrings from Accessorise, was sourced from the High Street.
Royal expert Daniela Elza suggests that this choice reflects Kate's normal upbringing and demonstrates that her Royal status has not fundamentally changed her as a person.
Elza contrasts this with Meghan Markle's preference for more luxurious pieces, citing her penchant for high-end fashion brand The Row and their $2,000 cashmere turtlenecks.
As Kate Middleton assumes a crucial role and continues to make relatable fashion choices, it seems that Meghan's departure from the Royal family has allowed her to embrace a more opulent lifestyle.
